Michael Rinaldi Ends Day 1b of the Shane Warne Super Stack as Chip Leader

Posted at 12:00 2013-05-04 by Matthew Pitt

The Crown Poker Room was its vibrant, bustling self yesterday as a further 115 buy-ins were added to the ever-growing prize pool in the Shane Warne Super Stack event. Of those 115 entries only 32 managed to progress to Sunday’s Day 2. One man is certainly progressed was Michael Rinaldi who somehow turned his 25,000 starting stack into a colossal 352,100!

According to The Hendon Mob database, Rinaldi has four live tournament cashes of note to his name. The first came in 2009 when he finished 14th the $100 buy-in Joe Hachem DeepStack Series, with his largest score coming some three years later when he finished seventh in this very event last year. Can he go all the way this time around?

Day 1b was the starting flight of choice or such Australian poker luminaries as Mel Judah, Leo Boxell and David Gorr, but none of the three poker hall of famers managed to navigate their way through the day’s proceedings. Will the re-enter on Saturday’s Day 1c? We would think so.

Others who will start Day 2 with plenty of chips include Kim Kungrok (215,200), Paul Altis (181,400), Roland Hawkins (150,700) and Darryl Gassali (147,600).

The third and final start day kicks off at 12:10 sharp on Saturday 4 May. Good luck to everyone who is taking part.
