The Party Poker Premier League will return for an exciting fourth instalment this February. The televised PartyPoker Premier League IV will be held for the first time in Las Vegas, after the first three seasons were filmed in London. The round robin “league” format will remain a constant, as is the news that defending champion JC Tran will be back for a title defence.
The biggest news though is that Party Poker is giving you the chance to win a seat in the Premier League and go head to head against 11 of the world’s toughest poker players. The good news of course is that Party Poker will pick up the whopping $100,000 entry fee in the process.
Players can compete in qualifying tournaments for as little as $2. Party Poker is sweetening the pot a little more for their VIP Palladium Lounge members. Three players will qualify to the final 16 via a points race and freeroll exclusive to Palladium Lounge members. The leaderboard offers a share of prizes worth more than $155,000, as well as a competition for a $9,000 PartyPoker.com Premier League play-off event package. A Palladium Lounge member is guaranteed a share of more than $155,000 if they are one of the top 250 PartyPoint earners between 7th December 2009 – 3rd January 2010. In addition Party Poker will be inviting everybody who finishes in the top 600 points to play in the Premier League play off freeroll on the 10th January, where there are two more $9,000 packages and even more cash prizes up for grabs.
In all 16 players will $9,000 Las Vegas packages, where they will duke it out for the money can’t buy seat in the $1.5 million Premier League. The Premier League Qualifying Series will be played in a similar format to the actual Main Event and will be a made for TV event in itself. Both the Qualifying Series and Premier League will be filmed and distributed worldwide. So even if you aren’t lucky enough to win the Premier League entry, you will still get the chance to boost your profile under the TV lights.
“One amazing element of this promotion that provides a truly fantastic opportunity is that one of the 16 qualifiers will be chosen by Party Poker to receive a $100,000 Team Party contract to be a sponsored player. This decision will be made by Party Poker within two weeks after the event takes place. We will only get a flavour of who we want to sponsor once we have had a chance to meet and interact with the 16 players that make it out to Las Vegas,” said a spokesperson for Party Poker.
The Party Premier League III was one of the more memorable tournaments of 2009 and JC Tran had to fight tooth and nail for the title to scop the $300,000 first prize. Tran beat out Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Juha Helppi, Tony G, Roland de Wolfe and Peter Eastgate in the final of the league to take out the title.
“I am very much looking forward to defending my Premier League title. It was a fantastic experience last year and is an amazing format. I am certainly not going to be giving up my crown without a fight!” said Tran.
In addition to all of the online qualifying action for the Premier League, Party Poker in conjunction with PokerNetwork have some great online deposit bonuses right now, that will see depositors pick up 100% up to $500 on their initial deposit. Party currently have a rather aggressive campaign to get a full team of Australian’s to the Aussie Millions, so there is no better time to get a Party Poker account.
