Plenty of Stars on the Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series Final Table!

Posted at 11:11 2009-11-23
Following a big repechage day where several notable players took advantage of the second chance, a whopping 292 players entered the fray of the Crown Poker Room for Day 2 of the Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series Main Event.

Their goal was to first reach the money, which was achieved around dinner time, before playing down until the final table of ten was reached.

Just before 3am the chips were bagged and tagged as An Nguyen emerged as a narrow chip leader over Oscar Jeney and 2008 APPT Sydney final tablist Hai Bo Chu. The final table should be a rather interesting affair as two of the final three “The Poker Star” contestants have reached the final table, perhaps adding some validation for the show. It’s been a big week for The Poker Star herself Amanda De Cesare, and wouldn’t it be an incredible achievement for her to win this tournament in her first major appearance representing PokerStars?

She’ll have good friend, and The Poker Star runner-up Chris Eva to her direct left, which will provide an interesting dynamic as the two obviously know each other’s game very well. Both start relatively short-stacked, so will have some work ahead of them.

A couple of other notables on this final table are Crown regulars Andrew Demetriou and Jacob Chen. Andrew is a previous Crown Player of the Year award winner and has seen many final tables, so his experience will be tough to overcome, while Chen is a dynamic young gun who will enter the final table with a healthy stack.
