PokerNetwork Live vs Online Challenge!

Posted at 00:21 2009-09-05
Hachem versus Karamalikis . . . Delaney versus Topakas . . . Levy versus Dodds . . . whatever match up you’re keen to view, then make sure to head to the PokerNews Cup for the PokerNetwork Online Vs Live Invitational!
The debate between who are the better group of poker players can finally be settled with PokerNetwork, PokerNews and Crown coming together to schedule an event that has the Australian poker community buzzing with eagerness, excitement and nervous energy.
Held during the upcoming PokerNews Cup (27th – 5th October), the PokerNetwork Online Vs Live Invitational will take place over two days on Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th of September with each player being responsible for their $1,100 buy-in.
The format for the event will begin on Tuesday the 29th at 12:10pm with essentially a 32-man heads-up tournament with points and a portion of the prizemoney awarded depending on results. The draws for each round will be conducted so that as much as is possible, there will be a member from each opposing team in each match up.
On Wednesday the 30th at 12:10pm the format will switch to an eight-handed shootout with the top two players from each table progressing through to the final table (along with the chips they have accumulated). Points and prizemoney will again be awarded depending on finishing position.
Captains for each team will be the highest ranking team member via the Pocket Fives (online) and 2009 PokerNetwork Australasian Rankings (live) with each squad being chosen from the highest ranked sixteen players that reply to info@pokernetwork.com by this Sunday. If the quota for each team cannot be filled, then nominations will be accepted, and invitation/selection will be at the discretion of PokerNetwork and Crown Poker.
With only eleven players confirming their availability, make sure to lock up your spot now so that you can be part of this history making event!
