The Macau Poker Cup is back for a third year with fantastic events and a huge HK$1 million prize pool guaranteed for the Red Dragon event! PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa will once again host the series which will run from March 3rd-7th 2010.
As well as the HK$10,000 Red Dragon event, the series will also feature a bounty event, a $200,000 guaranteed No Limit Texas Hold’em event and a Deep Stack tournament. In addition there will be a charity event with $50,000 in added prize money aimed at benefitting local charities.
The Macau Poker Cup is going from strength to strength and last October the Macau Poker Cup set a Red Dragon record of 247 players, creating a prize pool of HK$2.3 million. The HK$10,000 buy in is topped only by the December Macau Poker Cup Championship Main Event which features a buy in of HK$20,000.
Results in all Macau Poker Cup championship events will also count towards the Asia Player of the Year (APOY) standings where the player with the most points throughout 2010 will win a one year sponsorship deal with PokerStars Macau.
The new APOY competition starts during the Macau Poker Cup warm ups later this month.
Players can take their seats for the Red Dragon and other Macau Poker Cup events for free by winning a tournament package on PokerStars.net. Players can find tournaments under the “Events” tab in the tournament lobby.
As well as the Macau Poker Cup in March, Asia’s poker players can also look forward to the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour which returns to Macau on 18th May 2010.
