The race to the top of the PokerStars.net ANZPT leaderboard has just intensified with the news that the overall tour champion will also be awarded a seat into the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event!
The addition of the Aussie Millions seat takes the ANZPT leaderboard champion’s prize to a massive AU$60,000 in value including flights, accommodation and Main Event entry to all of the 2010 APPT season events.
The added value of the Aussie Millions seat is sure to entice even more players to the PokerStars.net Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour, which has been extremely successful so far in its inaugural season. The tour is expected to pay out AU$100,000 in added value to the top three players during the 2009 series alone.
One of the added benefits of a local tour is the discovery of new names, and Karl Krautschneider is just one of those to be uncovered so far after taking down the first event of the season in Adelaide. The relatively unknown Krautschneider currently sits atop the ANZPT leaderboard, but has some very experienced players waiting in the wings not far behind him.
Best of all, if a hot new talent does emerge victorious on the tour this year, they will be able to make the most of their new found profile via their sponsorship ties with PokerStars.
The next instalment of the tour is just around the corner, with ANZPT Sydney taking place next week between April 30-May 3 with two Day 1 Flights. Satellites for the Sydney Main Event are now being run at Star City casino in Sydney, while PokerStars are hosting online satellites daily for the third stop on the tour which is the ANZPT Melbourne, during the Melbourne Poker Championship at Crown in May.
