PokerStars.net APPT Cebu Schedule Released

Players from all around the world are busy booking flights in preparation for their descent upon the Philippines for the fourth leg of Season 4 of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour.

As the title sponsor of the APPT, PokerStars has announced the return of the event to be held on the exquisitely exotic South Pacific Island of Cebu in the Philippines.

The event will be held at the luxurious La’s Mactan Resort and Spa for its five-day main event held from November 12^th-16^th. The buy-in is 100,000 Pesos, or approximately $2,165 USD, and will also feature a series of smaller side events.

The event first debuted at this beautiful destination last year and managed to draw a large field as the event was a huge success. The growing fields and strengthened poker culture in the Asian area is providing a real buzz with plenty of interest in this event.

“The tour has gone from strength to strength in it’s relatively short life and fields are growing all the time,” said Jeffery Haas, President of the APPT. “Last year’s event in Cebu was a definite highlight and offered further evidence of the continued passion for poker in the Asia Pacific region.”

Last year, the event in Cebu housed 319 players and produced a prize pool of just over $630,000, with Korean player, Dong-bin Han, taking down the $156,722 first place prize. Along with the winner, the final table had representatives from the United States, New Zealand and of course the Philippines, showing the broad interest this event attracts.

Poker enthusiasts from 33 countries made the trek to this great event last year and that number is expected to grow for this year’s series. But it is not only the world class poker that brings the players to this area of the world. This five-star resort and exotic location is proving to be a must see location for poker enthusiasts.

Great events start from November 10^th, with smaller buy-in tournaments sure to be a hit with local players and those from abroad who can manage to get away from the beaches and day spas.

After a successful series of events finishing up in Manila, Macau and Auckland, this tournament series in Cebu will be the last event before wrapping up in Sydney later in the year.
