"sharmacho" Takes Another APCOOP Title To Taipei

Posted at 12:28 2010-11-27

It was 8:00pm AEDST last night when 423 poker enthusiasts from all around the Asia Pacific decided to spend Friday night indoors, with their mouse firmly in hand and with hopes of taking home a PokerStars APCOOP title.

The event in question was Event #7: $33 No-Limit Holdem [6-Max] with a $7,500 guarantee. The field made for a prize pool of $12,690, yet again eclipsing the guarantee, a feat which has been achieved in every event so far at the APCOOP.

There were only a few recognisable names taking time out of their Friday nights to play in the event, which included Jesse On The Mac McKenzie and Chris PokerDomeAA Levick.

Also in attendance were some of the Team PokerStars Pros including ANZPT Player of the Year Tony Hachem, Asia Player of the Year Bryan Huang and the Queen of poker in Asia, Celina Lin.

Unfortunately none of the notables would go on to cash, with McKenzie and Huang managing the deepest runs, finishing 86th and 88th respectively.

The event would manage to become one of the longer ones of the series, with the winner ‘sharmacho’ outlasting the field and taking home $2,535.16 after almost twelve hours play.

With only three more events before the APCOOP culminates in the $50,000 guaranteed Main Event on Sunday night, all eyes will now be watching the APCOOP 2010 Player of the Series Leader board.  The current leader is Taiwanese player ‘S.Rainy’ on 145 points, while he followed closely by his fellow countrymen ‘terryfan’ on 130 points. The next two spots are occupied by Australian locals ‘Kell Hawk222’ and APCOOP opening event winner ‘FinnValentin’, with the players on 115 and 110 points respectively.

The final few days of the inaugural PokerStars APCOOP are now underway but the action is only just heating up. There are still four more events on the schedule with this afternoon offering Event #8: $22 Pot-Limit Draw with a $1,000 guarantee at 4:00pm AEDST, followed by Event #9: $22 NLHE, 1 rebuy/1 add-on, with a $7,500 guarantee, kicking off at 8:00pm AEDST.

With the APCOOP Main Event now only a stones throw away and plenty of action to keep you busy in the mean time, there is no better time to download PokerStars and use PokerStars Bonus Code ‘STARS600’ to enjoy a monster first deposit bonus of 100% up to $600.
