SkyCity Auckland set for a Busy June

Posted at 07:00 2006-05-26 Skycity Auckland has announced a huge series of tournaments which will take place in June. First up is the grand final for the WSOP satellite series which will be held on June 17th, with the final table taking place the next day on June 18th. Players can qualify into the grand final through the weekend satellite tournaments, which you can buy into for just $60. Numbers are capped at 60, with the winner going through to the grand final. This is the only way left to qualify, as all spaces allocated for the direct $550 entry to the final have been filled, with a long standby list. Sixty players will line up for the final, where the winner will receive a WSOP package including a $10,000USD buyin to the Main Event at the WSOP, return airfares, accommodation and $10,000NZD spending money. Any remaining money in the prizepool will be paid out to the remaining 9 finalists, and with second place offering around $5000, there is more than just the first prize to play for. In addition to the grand final, Skycity Auckland is also hosting two Lindauer Ladies NL HE tournaments on June 5 and 25. Starting at midday and costing $60 to enter, the winner from each tournament will take home a slice of the prizepool from the day. Also, for players getting restless with holdem, you’ll be pleased to know that Skycity is introducing Omaha to the tables. To celebrate the launch, Skycity will be holding a tournament on 24 and 25 June, with buyin details to be announced. With Skycity Adelaide hosting their WSOP satellite grand final this weekend, and Skycity Darwin recently launching poker, it’s a busy time for the Skycity group of casinos – if you’re near one, now’s the time to get in and play some poker.
