The highly successful and ever-popular Joe Hachem Deepstack Series is back for a fourth tilt at the end of March. Already known as the launch pad for future Australian poker champions, the low buy-in series is the perfect developmental tool and bankroll booster.
Here’s your chance to get in on the action! JHDSS version four will run between 21 March - 5 April 2010.
The event prides itself on spreading Championship style, deep-stacked events, without players needing to spend a fortune in entry fees. JHDSS4 is no different and bound to suit players of every bankroll and skill level.
There will be daily $125 No Limit Holdem tournaments with 10k start banks, and nightly $25 rebuy satellites to for the $550 buy-in Main Event. The $125 events are sure to be popular and fields in excess of 200+ players are expected for each tournament during the first week of the schedule.
Thursday March 25 will see a brand new tournament introduced to the schedule in a ground-breaking move by Crown. The $340 Accumulator Tournament will break new ground for tournament poker. Like the popular repechage format, this tournament will be played over two day one flights. Much like the repechage, players eliminated on day 1a are able to buy into day 1b. However the accumulator tournament also allows players who make it through from day 1a to buy into day 1b and “accumulate” more chips towards the stack that they have already taken through on day 1a. They will of course start with a brand new chip stack on day 1b, but any chips that they take through at the end of the day are added together with their day 1a stack.
There will also be a $550 Heads Up tournament on the schedule, which will surely prove a sell out for the whole 32-player bracket. There will also be a Mixed Game Teams Event for the first time. Teams of two players will share the same stack, like normal, but one will play No Limit Holdem, while the other partner hits Pot Limit Omaha. Time to get the mixed game special pairs together now!
H.O.R.S.E. seems to be going out of fashion, being replaced by the popular 8-Game variant. The Joe Hachem Deepstack Series is moving with the times and has an 8-Game event on the schedule. Rotating through “Deuce to Seven”, all the HORSE variations, Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Holdem, the $1,100 buy-in 8-Game Event will certainly bring out the local pros and will be a highly sought after title.
The schedule also boasts two Pot Limit Omaha events ($1,100 and $230), a $340 No Limit Holdem Terminator event, an $1,100 Short-Handed No Limit Holdem event as well as the $2,200 High Stakes Holdem and of course the $550 No Limit Holdem Main Event. The Main Event will be played in Repechage format and players will have the option of buying into all three day one flights should they be eliminated from each day’s play. All flights will also be open to new players. This will likely take the event over a staggering 1,000-entry mark and with an ample 20,000-chip start bank and generous blind structures this tournament will be one of the highlights of the Crown calendar.
