The weekend is upon us which is great because it will give us a break here in the PokerNetwork offices from preparing our submission to the Australian government outlining the reasons why Australia should endorse Thanksgiving as an official national holiday. I mean seriously who doesn't want time off work to eat turkey and gamble on football games? If you didn’t just answer hell yes at your computer please stop reading now.
Now onto the important information for the weekend, where we will be laying down the cash.
NBL (Friday Night)
We expect some scoring as Wollongong and Sydney do battle down in the Gong. It’s “We love the Gong night” at the WIN Entertainment Centre and apart from the strange ability of the place to produce star poker players, were not quite sure what there is to love. Still the talk is that the Hawks and Kings will light it up with some fast paced scoring tonight that should see them pass the 158.5 total being offered up by Party Bets. A lot of other books have this number up at 160 and moving up, so we’ll play Sydney/Wollongong Over 158.5 at Party Bets. If you don’t already have an account over at Party Poker why not take up their offer of a no deposit $25 to put on the game.
NBA (Saturday Morning)
It’s a rare NBA selection from us. With games overnight every night we’ve been doing a fair bit of betting on the game. It’s been marginally better than the NFL for most punters which really isn’t something to write home about, but at the same time we really like this one. We expect that Denver will close at -4 or even -4.5 in their game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday Morning. That means the Denver Nuggets -3.5 on offer at Bet365 is what you are looking for.
NFL (Monday Morning)
Let’s face it Brad Childress had to go. The Vikings have been a laughing stock since the start of the year and it has got worse as it has gone on. There are the numerous Brett Favre problems, signing Randy Moss and releasing him a short time later, off field team issues and a number of other things. Brad Childress departing is one piece of the puzzle; the next will be when Brett Favre finally calls it a day on a career that has gone one too many years. Still with Childress gone we fully expect that the Vikings will bounce back and put up a win this weekend over a mediocre Washington Redskins. Bwin and Unibet have us covered with even money on the Vikings to win straight up.
That is all from us this week. Good luck for whatever you decide to bet this weekend!
