The Friday Flutter: Racing, Rumbling and Revving!

Posted at 19:23 2010-10-15

A successful second week for the Friday Flutter with plenty of winners to be had! We hope you got a slice of the action last weekend and let’s hope for another good week of tips from the guys!

Horse Racing: Legsman, Herculian Prince, and Mourayan (Saturday Noon AEDT)

TV: Channel Nine

The best bet of the weekend is LEGSMAN (race 4 no 4 at Randwick). He bypassed the Metropolitan for this so you’d hope the connections took the right route. In the Caulfield Cup, can’t go past HERCULIAN PRINCE (no 13). His run in the slop to win the Metropolitan over 2400m was ultra-impressive. The Melbourne Spring Carnival hasn’t been the happiest hunting ground for Gai Waterhouse, but this mudlark will right that stat. Will be saving on MOURAYAN (no 19) – the Williams team always seem to pop up on big racedays and this improving stayer could easily run into a place at good odds. Check out Betfair for all of the Australian Horse Racing action.

UFC 120: Curt Warburton (Sunday 3:00AM AEDT)

TV: Main Event (PPV from 6:00AM)

Making money in your sleep or while your finishing off a Saturday Night drinking session is always fun! That’s why we’ve picked one off the UFC 120 card that we like. Curt Warburton will make his UFC debut carrying a 6-1 professional MMA record against Spencer Fisher (23-6). Fisher is on a two fight losing streak and yet he will start a short-priced favourite against the hungry Englishman Warburton. Give that the fight is at the O2 Arena in London and that Warburton is fighting on the same card as several Wolfslair team-mates bodes well for an English victory here. That’s why we’ll take Curt Warburton at $2.70 on Bet365.

MotoGP: Valentino Rossi (Sunday 3:00PM AEDT)

TV: One HD

Stuff being patriotic when it comes to making the cash. Despite Australian Casey Stoner being the favourite to take glory in Sunday’s MotoGP at Phillip Island, Pete Marcato is on the Italian Valentino Rossi to continue his good form and take the win. You can join him and back the Italian at PartyBets  for $3.00 winner.

Best of luck to you if you do decide to have a bet and don’t forget to tune into the PokerNetwork Sports Betting show with Brendan Duffy, Sean Callander and Pete Marcato for more hot tips this weekend!
