Try The New Fifty50 and Watch Tony G Take On Isildur1 at PokerStars

With the addition of the exciting new ‘Fifty50’ game format and more ‘SuperStar Showdown’ action with Isildur1,PokerStars is the place to be in the New Year.
PokerStars has now launched the new Sit & Go format called Fifty50. In these new 10-player tournaments, the game will end when half of the entrants have been sent to the rail, with the remaining 5 players sharing the total prize pool. If that sounds familiar, it is because the popular Double or Nothing (DON) Sit & Go format plays out in the same fashion but there is one big difference.
When the 5 players remain and it has been announced that they are the winners, they will each receive an equal share of half the total prize pool, effectively receiving back their initial buy-in. The other half of the prize pool will be distributed amongst the winners dependant on chip-stacks, with prizes awarded based on chip count percentages.
For example, in a $9.30+$0.70 Fifty50 tournament, the five winning players would receive their equal share of half the $93 prize pool, with $9.30 distributed to each of the winners. The second half of the prize pool will then be divided by giving approximately $0.30 for every 100 chips in a player’s stack. PokerStars will display the approximate value amount per 100 chips to be distributed, in the Fifty50 tournament lobby which will of course change depending on the stakes.
PokerStars is now running Fifty50 Sit & Go’s with buy-ins starting at the $10 level, with many different stakes soon to be offered.
When you wake up this Monday morning to grind the Sunday Majors and while you try your luck at loading up a new Fifty50 tournament, head over to the high stakes tables to see the second instalment of Isildur1’s SuperStar Showdown matches. This time it will be Australia’s own Tony G taking on the “mysterious” Team PokerStars Pro.
After losing his first showdown against Isaac ‘philivey2694’ Haxton, Isildur1 will be eager to take it to Tony G and show everyone why he is now a Team PokerStars Pro.
The showdown between Tony G and Isildur1 will be half No-Limit Holdem and half Pot-Limit Omaha, with stakes at $50-$100. Both players already having $150,000 in escrow for the much anticipated match. The showdown will be played heads-up, consisting of a single 2,500 hand session, with the winner the player in profit after the hands or if at any point either player wins their opponents $150,000 showdown bankroll.
Tony G is known as one of the biggest “trash-talkers” in the poker world, so the rail will be sure to be full of needlers and fellow trash-talkers ready to watch the showdown unfold.
