Vinh Tran Tops Day 1c of the Shane Warne Super Stack

Posted at 12:00 2013-05-05 by Matthew Pitt

Day 1C of the Shane Warne Super Stack saw 221 player buy in, taking the total number of entrants to 510. This lofty total smashes last year’s attendance of 332 – more on the prize pool later. Of the 221 who started on the third and final flight just 80 remain, with Vinh Tran being the chip leader

Tran bagged up 193,800 chips, which although enough to see him being declared as his starting day’s chip leader, his stack was dwarfed by the 352,100 chips Day 1b’s Michael Rinaldi ended with. That said, Tran’s stack should be enough to him through to the money places in this tournament.

Those money places start when the 46th player has been eliminated because the top 45 players will receive prize money. A min-cash is worth $600, a final table increases that payout to $2,500 and the eventual champion will leave the Crown Casino, Melbourne with $32,500.

Joining Tran and the other players already mentioned – there are 160 players remaining – on Day 2 include Salvatore Ruotolo (162,400), Alf Frommer (160,200), Arnold Bathan (154,200) and Heath Chick (145,700).

Play resumes at 12:10 sharp and will continue until just one player has accumulated every single chip that is in play. Who will that massive stacked player be? Tune in tomorrow to find out!
