CROWN MILLION DOLLAR SPEED PART 2
The Courier Mail Columnist over the weekend made a pertinent comment with regard to the “Baby Boomers” in general. (Perhaps Poker in particular???)
It’s good to hear young people starting to protest against the baby boomers’ refusal to give up and fade gracefully into the sunset..
Is it any wonder that bright young things get upset when they see Mick Jagger and his band of wrinkled old farts pulling in crowds on a beach in Brazil.
NO! I’m with Ryan Heath who wants to hold boomers to account with his spirited book “Please just F* Off, It’s our turn now.” We do need to hand over the reins to the next generation, even though it’s not going to be easy … He only wants to shift boomers to one side rather than throw them overboard.

Like everyone else on PNW (108 so far) I have been following the thread initiated by our best seller Bugsy the Provocateur, which started but didn’t end with “Million Dollar Buy In.

It was a very sad day for me when I felt I had to let go of PNW. It still is. I miss it terribly but life goes on and the website needed Tony and John and Gaz and Yo to bring it to its next stage. The online stairway to the stars. PNW reached 10M hits during the Millions, it was going nowhere in 2006 without youth and international connections at the helm.
I had the pleasure of coffee at the Gold Coast Aria with a group of young Poker players last year on their way to Vegas, (I felt a bit like Yoda and the last class of Sky walkers) all of them a product of the Modern Era (ME). They included a number of pairs of unlikely twins Gaz and Yo and Bok and Mike plus Diva and the Sydney push of ME players. They spoke glowingly and enthusiastically of the future of Poker in Oz 2006.
What is relevant to Bugsy’s thread and subsequent posts is that they reminded me very much of myself at that age, the young JK and Professor Mike and to a certain extent Bugsy and Brian who together are Poker’s answer to Politics Bob Ellis. We were all young once, bright faced and bushy tailed and regrettably most of us will become wrinkled old farts. It begs the questions 1.”When are we old?” and 2 “when are the young and ready to take over from the old”?
