"Peter Aristidou Eliminated"
May 30, 2009
Aristidou Out; Lackovic Doubles
Peter Aristidou hasn't quite been able to make it through the day after committing his chips with
on a jack-high flop. Do Hoang was thrilled with the action as he had flopped a set of sixes which held to send Aristidou to the rail.Better fortune for Petar Lackovic who has just doubled up with pocket aces against the pocket queens of Sam Youssef. The board bricked out and Lackovic looks set to reach Day 2, while Youssef takes a hit but still remains our chip leader.
Last Three Hands
The Tournament Director has just instructed the dealers to deal three more hands, after which play will conclude for the day.Where's The Action?
The action has slowed down here in the Crown Poker Room; at first glance it looks as if all the players have run out of Powerthirst. On the contrary, everyone is being cautious knowing that as soon as play ends, all the remaining players will be through to Day 2.
All our reporters are now down on the floor trying to dig up something, just in case.
Huntly Has An Early Night
Dennis Huntly looked to take a gamble to build a big stack but ultimately it cost him his tournament as he was recently eliminated. We don't have the details of the action, other than Huntly's

couldn't improve against an opponent's
on a

board.
"Ten out of ten Crocky"

Crocky Conjures Up A Double
Full Tilt Poker pro Billy "The Croc" Argyros has doubled up in rather unorthodox fashion. He raised under the gun to 2,200 but that received little respect as four opponents made the call.
They saw a flop of

and the blinds checked to Argyros who moved all of his 15,700 chips into the middle. Emad Tahtouh stepped aside before Sam Higgs moved all in over the top for 35,000 to force folds from the blinds.Crocky:

Higgs:

Higgs held the lead with his marginal top pair, but Crocky got there when the
hit the turn and
on the river to complete his flush."You put 2k in with 15k behind with that...?" questioned Tahtouh before turning and muttering, "The calibre of play at this table has been spectacular!"
Horan Resteal Turns Sour
Liwei Han raised the button and Tim Horan was having none of it with a shove all in from the small blind. Han called and tabled
as Horan was probably happy enough to see that he was racing with his

and Han makes a full boat to send Horan sailing. Han is now up to 77,000 chips.
'xMONSTERxDONG' Soothes Savage
Ben Savage is no more after making his last stand and being eliminated by Jonathon 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis.Savage moved all-in for 9,800 from the button; Karamalikis made the call from the big blind as the others got out of the way.

Karamalikis:

Though the flop of

kept Savage ahead, the

fell on the river and with that Savage was tamed.Karamalakis now moves up to 90,000 in chips.
