Day 2 Concludes; Portaro Leads
After a long fifteen hour day we have finally whittled our field of 327 down to our final 19 players. The day was full of many twists and turns with Australia's best poker talents hitting the felt and many succumbing before the final hurdle.Notable players that ended the day in the cash included Roy Vandersluis, Jonathan Karamalikis, Karl Krautschneider, Billy Argyros, Trung Tran, Nali Kaselias and Ben Delaney.
However when they return tomorrow they will be chasing Bruno Portaro who stormed through the field to claim a massive chip lead. Despite a few late gambles, Portaro will enter Day 2 in a commanding position with over 2 million chips. He will be joined by the likes of Kristian Lunardi, Aaron Tran, Sam Jessop, Steve Topakas and Sam Vakili.
The final day action will commence at 2pm tomorrow, so login to PokerNetwork.com for the exciting conclusion of the 2009 Melbourne Poker Championships!
