"Congratulations to Andrew Hinrichsen, Winner of the 2009 APPT Sydney Six Handed"
November 30, 2009
Congratulations to Andrew Hinrichsen, Winner of the 2009 APPT Sydney Six Handed No Limit Hold'em Event! ($54,250)
Hinrichsen overcame a field of players jam-packed with many big names from the Australasian poker circuit, plus had to keep his cool and pick his moments carefully through all the pandemonium on the final table, which he did to perfection.
There's no doubt we'll be seeing more from this young man - he scored second place in the $550 Six Handed Event during the 2009 PokerNews Cup in Melbourne, plus a very impressive runner-up finish in the inaugral PokerStars.net ANZPT Queenstown Main Event in New Zealand.
Congratulations to Andrew and all of our final table players, you put on a great show right to the very end, though we must admit that we are looking forward to getting some shuteye.
Thanks for sticking it out to the end with us once again - we'll be back here tomorrow at 12.30pm AEDST for live coverage of the$ 2,200 APPT Sydney Mixed Event.
This concludes our broadcast day, until next time, ciao for now!

November 30, 2009
Joseph Moussa Eliminated in 2nd Place ($35,650); Andrew Hinrichsen Wins!
It's the only way you can describe this final table and Joseph Moussa's second place finish was no exception. Moussa and Andrew Hinrichsen traded blinds for about five minutes, then it came down to the final hand just after 1.30am:
Hinrichsen raised from the button to 15,000, Moussa reraised to 35,000, Hinrichsen four-bet to 65,000 and Moussa moved all in for another 225,000.
There wasn't a hint of hesitation for Hinrichsen as he announced, "Call." You could tell from the tone of his voice that he knew that Moussa knew that he was in strife.
Hinrichsen:

Moussa:

Neither hand improved on the flop of

and it was all over when the dealer produced the
on the turn, giving Hinrichsen the uber-nizzles.His friends had already started celebrating by the time the dealer turned up the
on the river and both players looked more relieved that the long grind was over.Moussa shook hands with Hinrichsen then left the poker room to collect his $35,650 payday (and perhaps more importantly, 40 winks).
Needless to say, Andrew Hinrichsen is the 2009 APPT Sydney Six Handed Event champion!

Nick Wright called time and Ekrami was given 40 seconds to make his decision. As the tournament director counted down, Ekrami sighed, shrugged his shoulders and said, "All right, I'm all in."
