"Champion Tolly Sakellariou!"
September 13, 2009
Congratulations Tolly Sakellariou, Winner Of Event 5: $5,200 PokerNews Magazine High Rollers ($58,000)
Last night 29 players took to the felt for the $5,200 PokerNews Magazine High Rollers Event, and after a solid two days of poker we have our Champion!Hedge-fund Manager Tolly Sakellariou outlasted some tough competition that included Daniel Neilson, Grant Levy, Bill Jordanou, Sam Youssef and Jason Gray.
Heading into today's final table well positioned behind Warwick Mirzikinian, Sakellariou would pick his spots wisely to eventually snatch the chip lead when play was four-handed.
After Mirzikinian exited, Sakellariou won a huge pot to cripple heads-up opponent George Moussa. Moussa fought back however to nearly be even in chips until Sakellariou held the better end of a flush-over-flush confrontation.
PokerNetwork would like to congratulate Tolly Sakellariou for not only capturing the $58,000 first prize but also coveted trophy and title of PokerNews Magazine High Rollers Champion!
With the High Rollers Event wrapped up, head over to the Main Event to catch all the action as we play down to another Big Game Poker Champion!
