I have seen poker affect many families and relationships, including mine at times. Players highly driven switch off to their surrounds and tend to forget the living side of life.
I hear it daily from players that their partner, friends and family are over them playing so much poker, even to the stage of presenting these players with heavy decision options, US or POKER!

My poker journey started back in early 07 when I asked my eldest son to teach me this card game he was playing called poker. I thought this would be away to reconnect with him chatting over a game of cards. After a few weeks he encouraged me to join APL which not only provided a great learning environment but also a fantastic social outlet. As my poker skills, passion and determination to play my best continued to grow so did my achievements.

After playing for hours and hours
Hearing “we are hand for hand” brings with it for me a moment that seems to last forever, like time in slow motion. I begin to tense up with excitement, become very aware like my senses have really kicked in, folding hand after hand, confidently making moves on weaker players when possible.
