Let me say this first ....

It is fantastic that someone is offering another opportunity to play tournament poker in Brisbane . However a few things that need to be discussed or aired in regard to the running of this event or events.

This is my 3rd time , I have played one of these events .

It is run on the word of Tournament Directors and Assistant Tournament directors who play and it is there responsibility to make decisions when necessary and uphold any of the " Rules " that have been applied to these tournaments.

These so called rules are being bastardised by the very people supposedly upholding them, when something is questioned be it by a TD or ATD things are changed to suit these parties. When any other player questions them they are abused and seen to be questioning authority and frowned upon by the so called heirachy.

The TDS and ATD's seem to assist with the setting up and organising of these events which is obviously appreciated by players. On sunday when the prizepool was announced we had 18 runners and the prize pool only added up to $1650. On questioning this I was advised that the TDS and ATD's only pay $70 to play. WTF. So there were 5 of these " unneccessary numbers for 18 runners " so the prizepool reduced by $150..

This week they are running a $150 terminator...I ask how much are the TD'S and ATD'S paying to play this week. " I "am not aware of any tournament where the organisers or so called TD'S are discounted so heavily 30% to make the occasional decision in an amateur event.

This should surely be advertised when looking for players on sites like this or is it not advertised because it is similiar or like taking " rake or admin fees" which is not allowed in QLD. I am not sure but people should know these facts.

Game like this are few and far between in Brisbane, it is a known fact that players do not play these events because of the way it is run, I believe that the numbers could double if players were of the opinion they could go to these games and have some fun as well as win some money and play some poker. In my opinion the rules need to be seriously looked at and either disregarded or stick to some basics. Advertise the blind levels correctly " 20 min levels when they were 30" this alone is costing you numbers. Be up front and transparent about the entry fees for all players.

I look forward to playing in this event again but hope that some changes in attitude and tounament directing are made for the good of the game.
