Re: *Official* NRL 2010 Thread 2010 06 06 07:24 pmThis should be the SOO team Hayne ( subject to judiciary) B. Morris Lyon (c) (subject to fitness) Cooper J.Morris Bird Pearce Gallen Watmough Leahroyd lahrs Weyman Ennis Luke Douglas Lewis Creagh Jason King Gidley Hayne is first choice FB Bird and Pearce is a good halves combo because it is a good combination of creativity and aggression. There can be no question that players like Biurd and Gallen are SOO players Learoyd Lahrs deserves his place in the starting line up. Aggressive big combative and will take it to the Qlders Luke Douglas is durable and will keep in carting the ball up all night. Nothing fancy or special just tough hard metres With leahroyd lahrs and douglas both of whom can play long stints on the field the selectors need not go with 2 front rowers on the bench and can play ball players like lewis and creagh Gidley has to play off the becnh. He has played his best rep footy as a No.14 and I think that will suit NSW the best. Lyon takes on the captaincy ( subject to fitness) tahu is not in my top 17 fullstop. No explanation needed. |

Re: Following on from the Poker State of Origin 2009 08 15 01:42 amI guess there is no love ![]() |
Following on from the Poker State of Origin 2009 08 14 10:01 amPauly, harry and the Jade team Following on from the success of the PSOO I think it may be a good idea to hold a NSW regional tournament which could be run in a similar way. There could be 6-8 teams. The teams would be as follows Team East Team West Team North Team South Team Inner City Team Central Coast Team North West Team South West Each team could consist of 8 players and the point systems and payout structure could be very similar if not the same as the PSOO that just took place. Entry would have to be 100 +10 or higher ( preferably $150+15) so with 8 teams of 8 the prizemoney generated would be $9600. Would the Jade be interested in running this sort of game and is there any interest from players in participating. This would be a good opportunity to finally determine which area of NSW has the best players. Cheers Anthony |
re: The old zero home game (10/06/09) 2009 06 02 10:32 pmmate i have an exam the next day so i will have to pass but post 22 June I am definitely up for a zero home game can we also have some PLO rotation and maybe some higher stakes limit as well Yes I am a loser but i don't mind throwing in some limit but it must be at least 5-10 or higher ( preferably a little higher bhut with a 200 buyin that may be a little difficult) |
Re: Congratulations Strong Play 2009 05 27 01:24 pmwell done Strong Play ship the WSOP |
Re: J Howard - no good as PM - even worse at poker 2009 05 27 01:23 pmRegarding payroll tax I think that would have been a very sensible idea and this is how the Federal govt gets around the constitutional limitations which are in place Take some of the 300BILLION they have borrowed and instead of giving direct cash handouts or funding infrastructure projects which do not contribute to productivity say to the states we will fund the lost revenue as a result of the rolling back payroll tax for 12-18 months.... this would in turn increase productivity ( definitely more than $900 for people like luckyshades to go to vegas). Obviously no funding would be forthcoming if the states don't roll it back but let me tell you it would have been very popular amongst most business and would have created jobs, jobs, jobs. There are no simple solutions but there are better solutions |
Re: J Howard - no good as PM - even worse at poker 2009 05 26 02:21 pmLadies and gentleman it is called Fear. Even if laws have not not yet come into effect people know they are on the horizon. This is the position that Employers are in. They know that draconian work place laws are on the horizon with essentially the same system of 80 years ago but with harsher collective bargaining ( it is for all intent and purpose compulsory). What benefit or protection do they have if they continue to employ - absolutely none. Workchoices made employing people less costly and encouraged the formation of more positions and jobs. So ok maybe the new laws are not yet in effect but trust me they are having their effect on employers. There are many counter-cyclical business' out there which would love to employee but fear doing so. tens of thousands of jobs would have been created if workchoices had not been woundback. this would have offset at least a good percentage ( maybe not all) of the jobs that have been lost as a result of loss of confidence due to the GFC ( which may i add has not been assisted by the Rudd Government either). Re: Jade Tavern now operated by Sin City Poker 2009 05 15 02:09 pmWell Done Paul and Harry. You guys are a great example of how a little bit of old school customer service can take a business to a whole new level. I hope these new circumstances allows you to do an even better job than you are already doing for the poker community. You are number 1 now by at least 10 lenghts but I expect this gap to widen with this new arrangment. See you guys soon for a game of Big 2 ( oh and possibly some poker thrown in) Cheers AB |
