| Madness on Crown cash tables | 2009 01 14 10:22 am | There is some madness on the cash tables which is the norm for the AM.. but this takes the cake. I raise to $30 on the button with 5s6s on a 2-5 table. There are 4 callers including a call in the SB from a very drunk Icelandic guy. Flop K76. Checked to me. I continue... $80. The iceland guy says "call, wait, no, fold... I'm just open ended." The dealer says "sorry but the call stands". Two others call. Turn 7. Checked around. River Q. No flush out there. Icland guy pushes all in for >$1k. One guy folds his King (understandable), the other folds. I call for my remaining $600. He shows 5-8. |
| Are bitter sledgers likely to be losing players? | 2009 01 04 04:19 pm | Just a theory but are miserable bitter sledgers on this site more likely to be losing players? It seems that most of the time the real players generally have well constructed arguments or points and are less likely to get tangled in trivial arguments or personal warfare. I'm aware there are plenty of examples where this is not the case but as a general trend I think I have a point. |

| Cash Game Rulings - who shows? | 2008 12 27 09:54 am | Question #1 Had a ruling at Crown which got me thinking... and I am not sure which way to go on this: There is some action (2-5 NL) Dave raises to $105, I call, 2 other callers. Flop. Dave pushes $200 or so. I push over the top. The other 2 fold. I had always been under the impression Dave would show first... but he correctly pointed out that I was the last aggressor. I show, he mucks. Myself and 1 or 2 others on the table consider my push effectively becomes a call which would mean he would show first. I'm not particularly phased either way but would like to know the ruling here. Question #2 I can't stand it when people bet the river, get a call, win the pot, and then demand to see their opponents cards... and always under the banner of "collusion" (but really because they are too curious and choose to ignore etiquette). It is my understanding that anyone dealt cards in the hand can request to see anyone's hole cards, even if both parties fold pre-flop (the hole cards are put to the side). Let me know if I'm wrong on this. I am fine with this rule being in place because collusion can occur at many points in a hand. I totally agree that the system must be in place to stamp out any collusion but I think it would be better if a supervisor was called over after the hand to ask the requester "do you suspect this person may be colluding?". If not, end of story, request denied. Otherwise, "open". This area can really bring ugliness to a cash game. Appreciate your thoughts on any/both of the above. |
