ok so i've re re read my post and i've left out a couple of things, (i've been mad blazed this week, holidays) plyr 1 is the group's nittiest player, basically always plays the cards and is the least likely to be bluffing. plyr 2 could show up with anything.
the bet sizes were very very big for this game, nearly every pot finished at $40, this was at $150 on the turn.
if i shipped my stack and lost i'm going home.

yeah, i fucked up the implied odds things, i'm meaning that if i call on the turn, how much am i going to have to call on the river.

wish i called, but yeah i did what i did. on the upside though, we're playing tonight and i'm going to be playing everything, and bluffing my arse off, after witnessing my lay down they wont b e calling me light at all.

yeah i agree with pot odds not having much to do with anything. the implied odds however did have a bearing on my decision.

i understand the logic behind the 3rd jack making it less likely there's a jack in my opponents hole cards.
however, do you ignore your read because of maths? i was fairly certain i was against quads so i folded. if i called with the belief i'm dead, why am i calling? if i had outs i could justify calling, if it was on the river i could possibly justify calling with the belif i'm dead, but on the turn?

am i trying to convince myself it was a good play?

Hi all, so i've beeen taking a break from poker and i think i'm a little rusty.
this hand is killing me, i'm not sure if i played it right.
A little background, this is my group of good mates, we play a $20 sit n go's about twice a week, most players are good enough, nothing spesh. This was a rare cash game and no player was getting too reckless.

Me: AA (BB)
Plyr 1:
Plyr 2:

Me: Bets $5, fold, call, fold fold fold call fold POT = $15.50

FLOP: J J 6 rainbow

Me: Bets $12, call, call POT - $51.50 - at this point i'm putting player 1 on a J and plyr 2 i wasn't sure.

TURN: J

Me: Check Plyr 1 bets $45, plyr 2 calls, Me folds. POT =$141.50 - I checked to see the bet size and use that info to proceed. I understand the 3rd jack makes it more likely my opponents don't have a J. also plyr 2 flat calling had me a little concerned that if i misread plyr1, plyr2 could easily showdown the J. so i fold

RIVER: 3

Plyr 1 bets $50, plyr 2 calls POT = $242.50

Plyr 1 shows a bluff, plyr 2 shows a 6 for a full house.


So, was i right to fold? I can't raise the turn with two in the pot, if i call, i'm thinking i will have to put in another $70 on the river. Pot odds are good, implied odds are good, still i fold.

So good fold or bad fold....or cosi cosi?

if a league was to start as lo/mid/hi, it would not be viable to have them at the same time. the hi league obv play in the morning, so getting a game going at that level at 6 pm is not happening. nor is getting a low league at 6 in the morning.

def not winner takes all if it's a league, too much time and money put in for that.
poss get the top 8 overall points holders to play off in a grand final for 8 prizes or something like that?
