| The hand which made me sick | 2009 10 07 04:05 pm | Just started playing a STT on Full Tilt and on the very first hand I was dealt Qc Qh in LP. I raised pot to $105 and was called by the CO and SB. Flop was 8d Jc 4h Then this happened ....... Full Tilt Poker Game Sit & Go Table 1 - 15/30 - No Limit Hold'em - 2009/10/07 Seat 1: Boulder28 (1,500) Seat 2: gerrk (1,500) Seat 3: johna67 (1,500) Seat 4: eikooc435 (1,500) Seat 5: JoeyLombardo (1,500) Seat 6: rabbit143 (1,500) Seat 7: BigNasty88 (1,500) Seat 8: VITDET69 (1,500) Seat 9: alchemist911 (1,500) *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to rabbit143 [Qc Qh] VITDET69 calls 105 Boulder28 calls 90 *** FLOP *** [8d Jc 4h] Boulder28 bets 210 rabbit143 raises to 720 VITDET69 calls 720 Boulder28 raises to 1,395, and is all in rabbit143 calls 675, and is all in VITDET69 calls 675, and is all in Boulder28 shows [Jd Tc] rabbit143 shows [Qc Qh] VITDET69 shows [4s 5s] *** TURN *** [8d Jc 4h] [5d] *** RIVER *** [8d Jc 4h 5d] [5h] Boulder28 shows two pair, Jacks and Fives rabbit143 shows two pair, Queens and Fives VITDET69 shows a full house, Fives full of Fours VITDET69 wins the pot (4,530) with a full house, Fives full of Fours I'm the first to admit I've been on a massive downswing the last couple of months and it's possible the game has passed me by, but can someone explain to me the logic behind - a) pushing all-in with TP no kicker ..... b) calling a big re-raise on the flop with bottom pair, no kicker no flush buy and less than minimum str8 chances. Of course I was on good terms with myself on the flop, concerned but not on suicide watch on the turn and finally in definite danger of hurling a £2.5k computer through the TV by the river. I was stunned to the point of muteness (is that a word) for awhile and couldn't even bring myself to curse in multiple languages at the donkey who stole my chips. Now, I'm looking for condolences, commiserations and bankroll donations from the good folk of PNW. All donations will be gratefully received and your name will be mentioned in my acceptance speech of the next EPT event I win. |
| FULL TILT Iron Man ripoff | 2009 07 02 10:08 am | I feel like a whinge so this is as good a place as anywhere. I've been playing on FT every day for the last 6 months and regularly make it to IRON MAN level each month. I was looking forward to getting the 6 monthly bonus which is decided by what levels you reach and how many months at each level. Now I read I have to obtain 10,000 FTP's in July just to release this bonus. If I was playing at this level every month wouldn't I be better off at PokerStars where I would make Supernova level? This Bonus Release works out at 5c a point but it's making you play for something you've already earned. What happens if you have a month off after your 6 months of play or if the WSOP cuts into your playing time and you are only able to earn a small portion of the bonus? Surely this is a way of making you continue to play instead of just giving you the bonus as a reward for lots of play such as Stars FPP's. Well, tha's my grouch, I'm seriously considering moving all my play over to Stars where I'm currently a Gold Level player. If there were more 45 man SNG's there it would be a no-brainer but I'm so pissed off I think it's a done deal anyway. Am I missing something about this that I should be aware of or is it just as poor as I think it is? |
| Obligatory Whinge | 2009 06 05 02:18 pm | 2.5 hours into a Full-Tilt WSOP Shootout with 1 seat and 2 cash prizes up for grabs. There's 4 of us left and not too much between the players chipwise. One guy has a poor rating with no profit but of course has been on a heater and I run into him on the last hand. Full Tilt Poker Game #12627467349: Main Event Shootout (92199049), Table 1 - 800/1600 - No Limit Hold'em - 23:53:00 ET - 2009/06/04 Seat 1: rabbit143 (29,579) Seat 5: RookieITB (22,275) Seat 8: phil_ivey41 (49,814) Seat 9: Viet Punisher (42,332) phil_ivey41 posts the small blind of 800 Viet Punisher posts the big blind of 1,600 The button is in seat #5 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to rabbit143 [Kd Qc] rabbit143 raises to 3,200 RookieITB folds phil_ivey41 folds Viet Punisher calls 1,600 *** FLOP *** [6d Kc 5h] Viet Punisher checks rabbit143 bets 3,200 Viet Punisher raises to 39,132, and is all in rabbit143 calls 23,179, and is all in Viet Punisher shows [Jd Ks] rabbit143 shows [Kd Qc] Uncalled bet of 12,753 returned to Viet Punisher *** TURN *** [6d Kc 5h] [Js] *** RIVER *** [6d Kc 5h Js] [Ts] Viet Punisher shows two pair, Kings and Jacks rabbit143 shows a pair of Kings Viet Punisher wins the pot (59,958) with two pair, Kings and Jacks rabbit143 stands up (totally pissed off & smashes his new laptop) *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 59,958 | Rake 0 Board: [6d Kc 5h Js Ts] Seat 1: rabbit143 showed [Kd Qc] and lost with a pair of Kings Seat 5: RookieITB (button) didn't bet (folded) Seat 8: phil_ivey41 (small blind) folded before the Flop Seat 9: Viet Punisher (big blind) showed [Jd Ks] and won (59,958) with two pair, Kings and Jacks Of course this guy who is in debit with his poker playing goes on to win the seat and joins the ranks of multiple donkeys (I include myself) who will make up the 'dead money' on July 3 in Vegas. I know this is nothing special and happens many times on a daily basis but WHY does it have to happen in this spot. If I thought it would do any good I'd put an egyptian mummies curse on the guy which would affect him, his dog and his dog's fleas for eternity. But of course I miss out on a seat or some money to make up for the huge downer I'm going through. Just thought I'd bitch for a moment, so long and thanks for all the fish. |
