Re: Anyone else having problems logging into Pokerstars? 2011 06 24 02:22 pmThanks for that info guys. I went one day without playing and was starting to have withdrawal symptoms. I can only imagine how the yanks must be feeling after 6 weeks of not being able to play. I resisted the temptation to put money on Full Tilt even though I probably would have weakened in another 24 hours.

Admittedly this one took 3 years and 1 month to get results but at least I now know that no-one knows who he is.

Therefore I have amended the above quotation for the sake of readability (sic). Regarding the 16 girlfriends I can not vouch for the exact number as I haven't been in Russia for a couple of years. However there could be 16 girls relying on JK for various reasons such as female dealers for employment, an occasional painter making her way in the artistic world, the odd Girl Friday (cum tourist) who has been hanging around for 13-14 years and the usual strays who pop up from time to time, then the number 16 would not seem inappropriate. In an Aussie context, perhaps the phrase could be, various persons of the opposite sex for whom I have genuine respect who don't need a monogamous relationship and who are quite happy to carry on without all the emotional baggage which tends to affect western relationships. This seems to categorize a lot of JK's friendships as he tends to gravitate towards women who are attractive but not clingy. Nice girls who will come and go from your day to day life and can always be called on for help from time to time. The problem with this is, if you ever decide to leave, what becomes of these people who have been such a big part of your life for varying stages of your stay in Moscow? Not an easy decision.

Re: Clearing the 1st deposit bonus on Tilt. 2010 03 17 07:23 amThe big difference on Tilt SNG's is they don't have ante's so you are not forced into shoving as early. Once you clear your bonus try out the multi-table 18/27/45 mans.
| 2010 03 17 05:26 am I'm not sure you can make a decision to play or not play the WSOP purely on an EV basis. We play it because it's the most famous tournament of the year. If you get to be 'Luckbox Champ' of the year then your life and the lives of your closest family are changed forever. It's also an experience that you should do at least once if not more times in your poker career. You get to meet up with other aussies that you might not normally see during the year. You get to rub shoulders with the famous, the not so famous and those that just think they're famous. You can go to Nightclubs that require an additional mortgage on your house to have a good time and see more eastern european hookers carrying more silicone than a NASA experimental laboratory. The wsope IS a tougher tournament but that's not the only cost associated with it. It costs more to get to London which is incredibly expensive once you get there. I think the best course of action is to win your seat to Vegas so that your entry, airfare and accommodation are taken care of, then any tax concerns are lessened due to the freeroll you are on. Likewise for the WSOPE and EPT Monte Carlo and of course the AUSSIE Millions. If you can win these four plus some EPT's along the way then yankee tax issues are considerably lighter. Unfortunately I've only ever been able to win some WSOP seats so do what I say not what I've been able to do so far. | |
Re: Sunday Million - The Don Bot 2010 03 01 04:47 pmGood run. Eventually out in 54th after losing half his stack with TT vs JJ and final hand AK vs AA. Thought there might have been a final table for a while after getting to 2nd and hovering in the 1st few until the TT/JJ hand.
Re: Sunday Million - The Don Bot 2010 03 01 03:28 pmNow coming 4th with 136 remaining.
| 2010 03 01 03:06 pm Does anyone know this guy? He's currently 10th in the Sunday Million with 187 left. Says he comes from Muswellbrook. | |
Re: Best cash-in cashout system for Australia? 2010 02 23 05:32 amThe above example represents a charge of 1.99% over the rates as shown on internet sites. In reality compared to rates you would actually receive from banks or currency exchange places it's more like 1%-1.5% which is very competitive. Gary Benson also offers an excellent service to Australians.
Re: Best cash-in cashout system for Australia? 2010 02 23 05:13 amIf you want your money Immediately use Neteller. All you do is withdraw from Stars or Full Tilt and it goes to your account either straight away or within an 1-2 hours. Get their Mastercard Debit Card (free) and you can withdraw from any ATM or use it at a store. If you need cash from an ATM there is a US $6 charge so it is better to withdraw large cash amounts. I rarely use it for cash transactions. If you use it in a shop the only cost is the foreign currency difference between what you see in the newspapers and what they charge you. As an example today I purchased an item worth £120.00 GBP @ 1.57841342 GBP/USD = $189.41 USD . According to the yahoo site (Currency Converter for all Foreign Currencies - Yahoo! Finance UK) this is really worth US$185.70 at $1.5475. Of course you could never get $1.5475 in real life so this method works out very close to the best you can get. The Neteller option has the added benefit of use in most countries in the world. However if you want cash in the U.S. don't open your Neteller account while you are in America. You can still use the debit card as long as your account is not accessed by computer inside the U.S. as that will trigger your account being frozen.
Re: Anyone played overseas in Europe? 2010 02 07 06:56 pmThe casino's in London are pretty average by Crown standards but still a good idea to drop in beforehand to get membership sorted out before you want to play (takes 15 mins) 'The Casino at the Empire' in Leicester Square (The Casino at The Empire - Weekly Poker events) is in a great location in West End but not a great Poker Room. The Victoria (Grosvenor Casinos - London Victoria) is good for cash and Tournaments in London. The International Club (The International Private Members Club - Welcome) is my favourite and is the updated Gutshot Club - Central London - check website - friendly, daily tournaments etc. A bit more casual than the other two. UK's (Europe's) biggest room by far is in Nottingham - Dusk til Dawn (DUSK TILL DAWN Live Poker Club in Nottingham UK), you will need a train trip to get there (2.5 hrs) from London, worth the trip. Go to the local major shopping Mall and check out the underground caves (City of Caves, VISAV site) which have been used by the locals for hundreds of years, maybe take a trip to Sherwood Forest (Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve - Nottinghamshire County Council) as well to see a Robin or two. There are cheap deals on hotels on their website. In Paris of course the Aviation Club (Aviation Club de France) is on the Champs Elysee and in walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe. Extremely picturesque and a fantastic restaurant. They stop the nightly tournament for supper.

Anyhoo, datz whut it sed. I'm not sure about your conjecture of 'defining a specific', from my memory ... The word 'that' is used in the English language for several grammatical purposes: * to introduce a restrictive clause * as a demonstrative pronoun * as a complementizer. But for the sake of peace and harmony in the classroom I'm prepared to changed the title of this thread to THE HAND WHAT DID MY HEAD IN.

| 2009 10 07 04:05 pm Just started playing a STT on Full Tilt and on the very first hand I was dealt Qc Qh in LP. I raised pot to $105 and was called by the CO and SB. Flop was 8d Jc 4h Then this happened ....... Full Tilt Poker Game Sit & Go Table 1 - 15/30 - No Limit Hold'em - 2009/10/07 Seat 1: Boulder28 (1,500) Seat 2: gerrk (1,500) Seat 3: johna67 (1,500) Seat 4: eikooc435 (1,500) Seat 5: JoeyLombardo (1,500) Seat 6: rabbit143 (1,500) Seat 7: BigNasty88 (1,500) Seat 8: VITDET69 (1,500) Seat 9: alchemist911 (1,500) *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to rabbit143 [Qc Qh] VITDET69 calls 105 Boulder28 calls 90 *** FLOP *** [8d Jc 4h] Boulder28 bets 210 rabbit143 raises to 720 VITDET69 calls 720 Boulder28 raises to 1,395, and is all in rabbit143 calls 675, and is all in VITDET69 calls 675, and is all in Boulder28 shows [Jd Tc] rabbit143 shows [Qc Qh] VITDET69 shows [4s 5s] *** TURN *** [8d Jc 4h] [5d] *** RIVER *** [8d Jc 4h 5d] [5h] Boulder28 shows two pair, Jacks and Fives rabbit143 shows two pair, Queens and Fives VITDET69 shows a full house, Fives full of Fours VITDET69 wins the pot (4,530) with a full house, Fives full of Fours I'm the first to admit I've been on a massive downswing the last couple of months and it's possible the game has passed me by, but can someone explain to me the logic behind - a) pushing all-in with TP no kicker ..... b) calling a big re-raise on the flop with bottom pair, no kicker no flush buy and less than minimum str8 chances. Of course I was on good terms with myself on the flop, concerned but not on suicide watch on the turn and finally in definite danger of hurling a £2.5k computer through the TV by the river. I was stunned to the point of muteness (is that a word) for awhile and couldn't even bring myself to curse in multiple languages at the donkey who stole my chips. Now, I'm looking for condolences, commiserations and bankroll donations from the good folk of PNW. All donations will be gratefully received and your name will be mentioned in my acceptance speech of the next EPT event I win. | |
