Premier League Darts 20122012 02 06
12:02 am
Yes, yes, yes, we are but a matter of days from the start of the 2012 Premier League of Darts. The 8 man field, and betting market for the competition is:

Phil Taylor $2.75
Adrian Lewis $4.50
Gary Anderson $5.00
Simon Whitlock $8.00
James Wade $9.00
Raymond van Barneveld $21.00
Kevin Painter $21.00
Andy Hamilton $26.00

Taylor's recent form gives cause for concern, however, this competition goes for several months, so there's time for a turnaround. The safe bet seems to be with Lewis, but the Wizard is back in form.

Either way, I'll be watching as much as possible.

Round 1 matches and markets are:
Wade $1.55 vs Hamilton $3.60 (Draw $5.50)
Whitlock $1.75 vs van Barneveld $3.00 (Draw $5.00)
Anderson $1.50 vs Painter $3.70 (Draw $6.00)
Taylor $1.72 vs Lewis $3.10 (Draw $5.00)

Unload on Whitlock at the very generous price of $1.75 imo!

Yes, the World Championships are infact just about upon us once again! Starting Friday morning from the venerable Alexandra Palace in London, 6am AEDST. Adrian Lewis will be attempting to defend his title but of course the man to beat is the 15 time world champ, Phil Taylor. Coming off an upset defeat to Mervyn King last week in the Players Championship, you can be sure he'll be set to try and make it 16 World titles.

Glam Slam Of Darts Betting2011 11 13
12:37 pm
Damn, can't believe I missed the start of the Grand Slam of Darts championship this morning of Fox Sports.

First set of matches were completed, and we got ourselves some upsets:
Brendan Dolan beaten by Wayne Jones
Raymond van Barneveld beaten by Ian White (who?)
Gary Anderson beaten by Nigel Heydon, and
Terry Jenkins beaten by Justin Pipe

This tournament brings together the best players of the PDC and BDO organisations, and is in a group format; so the above defeats do not necessarily mean elimination; but they will all need to turn things around quickly.

Tonight's group matches (group is in brackets):
Paul Nicholson $1.30 v Barrie Bates $3.35 (F)
Wes Newton $1.30 v Magnus Caris $3.35 (F)
Mark Webster $1.30 v Arron Monk $3.35 (G)
Vincent van der Voort $1.75 v Co Stompe $2.00 (H)
Mervyn King $1.60 v Steve Beaton $2.25 (E)
Phil Taylor $1.05 v James Hubbard $9.00 (E)
Adrian Lewis $1.30 v Martin Phillips $3.35 (H)
Jan Dekker $2.45 v John Part $1.50 (G)

The van der Voort vs Stompe match should be a beauty!

Might take this multi: Netwon/Webster/Beaton/Taylor/Part at $5.99 on Sportingbet (should be able to get a bit better on Betfair).

PNW Melbourne Cup Sweep 20112011 10 26
11:37 pm
Hey everyone,

We're a bit less than a week away from the 2011 Melbourne Cup. So we're going to have a go at running the PNW Melbourne Cup Sweep once again. At this stage we'll just run a $20 entry sweep. Maximum number of entries per sweep will be 4. If we get enough entries to run more than one sweep, then we'll start another.

Payment details to be sorted out in the next 24 to 48 hours but is likely to involve Stars and Party Poker transfers; will confirm here once finalised.

The draw will run along the same lines as the last couple of years we've run this - each entry will be allocated a randomly drawn BARRIER number, run via a Random Number Generator from the random.org website. Once the field is finalised on Saturday night and the barrier draw completed; the horse that draws the barrier number you have will be your Cup entrant.

For each sweep we manage to get running, the prize money will be:
1st - 50%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 15%
Last - 5%

Please register your interest and number of entries you'd like (maximum 4), and once payment details are finalised, they will be posted for you to forward the monies. The draw will not be conducted until all entries have been paid for - hopefully we'll be able to the draw on Saturday night.

Good luck all!
