What I dont get is why the hell do companies think that these sort of Apps are a great idea for distribution and not take some sort of self governence to ensure that it is rated M15+ or at least considered explicit or whatever itunes uses. anyway it just makes everyones job of getting this right even tougher when people dont think about anything but themselves. mind you kids can buy slots on a computer program from off the self.... anyway still i guess its the fact that parents dont take responsibility for checking what their kids are doing with their ipods and iphones. Anyway just some thoughts on the progress of our government to control everything and everyone in our country. |
| Report from senate inquiry on online gambling and gamling advertising | 2011 12 19 04:10 pm | Hi all sorry has been a rough week. about mid week last week i received from the government the report issued from the above senate equiry as I was a person that submitted a submission to that enquiry. the main recommendations include: 1. recommend that the dept of broadcasting undertake or commission a report into the extent of online gambling in Australia in order to get a greater understanding of the industry before changing any laws. 2. to continue to ban in-game online betting (I note this is targeted at sports betting) but still they were quite clear that the law should remain in tact as is. 3. the new proposed law on restricting access to credit card payments for online gambling was scrapped. the entire report is quite long, but anyway you should know we are no where closer or further away after this lengthy senate enquiry. |
| The Corporate Machine roles on | 2011 12 14 05:05 pm | Article in todays West Australian saying James intends to rename Burswood to Crown Perth. does this mean that he is also rebadging Crown to Crown Melbourne? or did he do this back when the set up Crown Macau? Anyway not much of an issue as i am sure it will all look the same but the Burswood Chips might actually be worth something to those who collect.... once they are out of circulation... I guess. I am keeping my whales tail $1 chip just in case. |

The conversation with Mr Muchenberg is almost laughable in relation to his use of the USA as a litigious country to illistrate the deficiencies in the law that NickX is suggesting we pass.... http://www.aph.gov.au/hansard/joint/commttee/j311.pdf this is a fair bit old now, but still laughable.... Is it only the banks interests in the US that they are worried about, NO F WHIT HE INDICATED THAT IT WAS AN ILLISTRATION ALREADY, MAKING HIM REPEAT HIMSELF DOESNT CHANGE THE ANSWER..... lol.... anyway, went to this after seeing Nick being himself in the Qantas hearing this morning.... again laughable. trying to get a CEO to say he has done a bad job is like trying to get a pollitition to say they shouldn't be re-elected.... I am sure this guy is a FW. |
| Nic X and his online gambling hate | 2011 06 30 12:01 pm | Has anyone had a look at the proposed changes to the IGA that Nick boy has proposed. these are meant to be cancellation of unprocessed credit card transactions rules when using online gambling. however, he has hidden away a increase to the scope of the provision of gambling services to include inducements to gamble. If the same person provides play money games and real money games then the play money games are broadly meant to be illegal activities as well. As to what person means (ie same entity, same corporate group, same ultimate controller or whatever....) I gather generally it would mean the same company, individiual... so limited impact maybe But WTF, i mean play money games really why? sure they might actually be an inducement to gamble but many people only ever play play money and never risk their cash. I just think it is over the top BS. |
