| Interesting shit to read... | 2010 11 18 03:00 pm | Seem to be lately reading stuff about human behaviour and philosophy. Crime and Punishment really made me stop and question everything I thought I knew about society. The logic used is compelling and disarming... very powerful stuff. In very good condition (apart from 2 small scratches They are roughly 1.5 years old but comes with a brand new cable and the earcup pads were replaced just 2 weeks ago. Reason for selling: They haven't been used at all for the last 3 months as I got another higher end pair. | Question About Stud 8 | 2009 03 06 03:18 pm | A situation which I frequently find myself in is a multiway pot where on 5th street I have a made low hand and a player with a high hand bets and I am next to act and there are 2 or 3 players behind me who are drawing to a low. Should I raise it to chase the other low draws out, or should I smooth call and hope that they call to bloat the pot. For example: on 5th street I have (A7) 246 and a guy with KQJ showing leads out for a bet and behind me are 2 guys with 45J and 379. Should I call here or raise? what if there was only 1 player left in the hand? I think with just 1 other player drawing to a low I should just call but if there are 2 or more low draws out there I would prefer to raise. Obviously If I have them board locked for the low then I would flat call but that is not the situation I am asking about. |
| Fucked up with AK late in tournament | 2008 08 24 04:00 am | Blinds were 600/1200 my stack was 40k. Folds to me in MP and I raise to 3200. Folds to SB who calls and has a stack of about 28k. BB calls and only has 4000 left. Flop A22 rainbow SB bets 4000, BB calls and is all-in. I raise it to 10,000 and the SB calls. Turn is a 9 and the SB goes all-in for his last 18k and I reluctantly call but he shows 99 for the full house. I felt so sick and regretted not going all-in on the flop, the pot was big enough, I should have just protected my hand. Every1 at the table told me that I should have just gone all-in on the flop. At the end of the day i wanted him to call me, I just didn't want him to hit his 2 outer. Is the accepted theory that in the late stages of a tournament with big blinds that you should protect your hand at the cost of potential extra chips? I mean normally if I know I am a 92% favorite then I want to do everything I can to keep my opponent in the pot, but when the pot is already relatively large in the late stage of a tournament does it then become mandatory that I protect my hand? I mean I ended up losing 3/4 of my stack because I didn't protect my hand so I am thinking that I really fucked up badly. |
| OPT Main Event reduces guaranteed prizepool to 18k | 2008 04 01 05:07 am | http://www.pokerdome.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=365&Itemid=52This is a joke. They gonna be taking 2000 out of the prizepool each week to put into some stupid end of season final. This seaon they had the 20k guarantee each week plus they had a player of the season prizes. So some genius there has come up with a way to fuck up a good working system and turn it into shit. Lets keep the buyin at 200 and reduce the prizepool to 18000... why would u want to tamper with something which was working fine? u have been getting more than enough runners to easily cover the guarantee plus make a tidy profit from the 10% rake. Constantly trying to get 2 fancy with big ideas and boasts. Like constantly each week telling us about the televised final table. We been hearing about this from day 1... its a pipe dream. All yur silly points systems and fancy structures are ghey. Just give us a good value tournament where the money is returned as prizepool to the players on the night... there is no need to overthink it and complicate it. I guarantee if u bothered 2 ask the players what they want they will tell u the same thing! |
