Re: fold right?

SP

you, more than anyone, know the history behind that comment. you have inflamed many threads mate, and if your intention is to act as an unbiased moderator then u fail.

not only was Al's comment yet another subtle self-serving dig, it was about the hundredth like it and added nothing to the thread discussion. it merely restated a point already made in a far more professional way by risk and others.

i've posted hands to this forum knowing full well that my line in the hands would show leaks, hoping that i'd gain some idea of a better way to approach hands. have another read of the way i responded to risk and grunters advice. it was respected and appreciated.

there are very few amateur players who are prepared to show hands on this thread because they fear being ridiculed. that's a pretty sad indictment on the forum as a whole. im 40, love an argument and i have a pretty thick skin, so i persisted.

stop being so pathetically concerned about OPs rejecting or questioning the advice they are given. it's nearly always digging further into a root problem in their game which can then be further explored. i've cringed at the number of times that pro players in this thread have openly mocked further posts from an OP and killed any chance of the thread having some useful outcome.

my thanks to risk, grunter and several others who saw what i was doing and let a few discussions ride even when i persisted supporting a line and patiently explained why my thinking was wrong. this has made more difference than you realise. every time you thought i was rejecting your prof advice, rest assured i was doing the exact opposite.

i regret posting to this forum under my own name, but what's done is done. every post i've made to this forum has been made with a genuine love of the game.

later.

yeah, would be happy to. i feel like Steve Waugh hooking at the moment.

Edit: I don't know how to go about getting coaching. Ideally, it would be from one of the regs on this forum who has enjoyed my donkumentaries over the past year and is already familiar with the leaks. I do promise to stfu and listen.

All of the detailed responders here can tell you clearly and accurately what is wrong with your preflop action, postflop action, and how to play when you get HU vs the donkbettor.
I know mate. I build up stacks easily, then the leaks kill me. I'm just lost once i get close to cl. Not sure what i shld be doing.

I dont know how coaching works. Were all u guys coached? Would like to spend a cpl hours talking general strat, especially large stack strat, then see where it leads. Who wants a project?

thnx grunter

ok, calling KJ pre flop is not a good idea. staggers me, but thats the reason i post these threads.

'only raise flop to get it in or as a bluff' - a little piece of wisdom i've been really missing. thnx

listening to advice - well one reg here agreed with being agg in 6-max and raising the flop here, then others disagreed. so i kept digging. i also conceded the line when risk mentioned it. SP asked first up what my thinking was when raising the flop, so I posted my thinking.

i'm not the only person who has told Al to bugger off. when he posts strat answers they're good. but 95% of Al's posts are not strat answers.

Re: fold right?

ok. i give up. just want to point out a couple of things:

1. i'm running 1/400 in the tournament at the time this hand came up. i also ft'd the same event a few weeks back. it's not an uncomfortable buy-in lvl for me, just an unusual situation.

2. i appreciate the comments regarding flatting the turn, but no-one has offered a plan for the hand in the event that PFR flats, raises or folds. i'd be genuinely interested in this. (risk - sry, i can't remember the thread you are referring to mate.)

3. i'm not raising to build a pot here, i'm raising to take it down with what is very likely the best hand and move on to the next. i tend to end the hand quickly with a JT, two club flop since half the deck will have me guessing on the turn, especially if it's 3-way.

4. moffo is the only guy to mention that 6-max can be hyper aggressive at times, with very wide PFR ranges. in light of that, would be interested to hear ppls thoughts on PFR's likely range here (especially in light of PFRs likely read of me muscling the small blind). this was kinda the whole point of the thread.

5. not sure whether you are suggesting folding or raising the KJ pre, but if you are suggesting folding KJ with 5-1 odds pre-flop then i can't agree.

6. Al, i couldn't give a shit about your opinion mate, so stay out of my threads.

Dodds is doing you a favour mate... think about why you are raising here..flatting is far and away the superior option. I'm sure you did a similar thing in one of your other posts and got similar responses, re-read those.

Also vs someone as decent as the PFR I wouldn't bother flatting KJo pre.
nice to hear from you again mate

nah, i'm lost. if i flat and PFR raises, then i don't know how to range the guy. i'd raise nearly every time in this situation, so dumb it down for me. what's the correct line in a 6-max game in this situation given that action from PFR is very likely here?

yeah, thnx risk. appreciate your comments.

fwiw initial bet out of sb was from low stakes fish who had probe bet/folded half a dozen times pre and post flop leading up to this. 1475 was simply representing the hand i had, which had sb easily beat. didn't want to run top pair into a 3-way pot if Pokercini was connected with the board. raise to 4000 from Pokercini was unexpected but felt i had to respect, despite having a small part of his range beat. Pokercini has very strong stats and was unlikely to overvalue here.

is that ok SP?

V is fairly new LAG based on TS stats. -ROI, >100 mtts, high early busto rate. This was the first hand i'd contested with him. LAG seemed pretty accurate based on the few hands i'd observed to this point, but it was very early in the mtt.
