| Crown Rake Increase = Corp Greed and demise of poker players or a move to Home Games | 2011 06 04 06:45 pm | Crown 2/5nl rake has been increased to 10 cap and 2/3nl games all changed to turbo so you hurry up and pay them rake...... Previously about 260 was raked per table per hour inc time charge and now it would be about 350 for 2/5 games. Live poker in the mid stakes has dyed a little and flatlined for quite a while this will likely impact the players more as they will seek different venues to play. Management at Crown is so stupid that they think that there is no where else to go but in the years I have played more and more home games are springing up and they are feasible cheaper and definately full of players. they are doing very little to keep their reglars playing who play 5 days or more a week they are the majority of the customer base. Currently I can play in a home game 3-5 times a week but choose to come to Crown. Currently I frequent home games about twice a week but may start seeking the other games which exist during the days and weekends. Yeah if anyone needs players in the Melb city area for 2/3- 5/5 home games I might come Pm me I know other people interested also and if you want to play in 2/3 to 5/5 home games in the city also PM me and I can get you a seat.. |
| Are poker players more advanced now? | 2010 12 26 04:06 am | Just a question to the community....do you think poker players are more advanced to a stage where they want new challenges? If you were presented with games with new challenges would the poker community reject these or take them up eg cashout Poker on Full tilt/matrix tournaments or even more advanced games than these which could be created? If a more advanced version of tournament poker were introduced do you think players would be interested in playing them or is the majority of poker players still to casual and still happy playing holdem tournaments as they are? |
