just wanted to say a huge thank you to scotty for running a great game sat night , the game started with a $100 tourny (12 players) then 2 cash tables that went untill late.

hi all , played both events last night and enjoyed them both , then went in and looked at the main event.......

i thought this series was to be friendly for the working people ? the main event is a 2 day event starting at 4.30pm (brissy time) with day 1 running for 23 levels - each level is 30mins = 11hrs 30 mins playing time + breaks that means you are going to finish at 4am ..... worker friendly ??? then if you make the second day it will restart at 2pm (brissy time) again worker friendly ???

i know everyone is going to say just take the day off and stop bitching but when you are running a small bussiness it not that simple.

my question for pokerstars is if you want the working people to play why not play the main event starting on a saturday and finishing on the sunday ? i know it's too late for this year but might be something to look at for next year.

i am amazed that everyone thinks it's ok to rake a home game ??? what u can't beat the players so lets rake the game to cover your losses ?

and before you all jump on me yes i have run home games and never raked a game. for 5 years big d's at caboolture we had tourny's and cash games every friday night.

if the players wanted food we all put in $5 and got food, once a year we would ask for a donation to buy new cards.


if you want to host a game then host it but don't take players bankrolls of them, if they want food or drink let them bring it or charge them a set price before the game starts and tell them it's for food and drink , leave the money on the table.

Murphmaester - if you are so keen to play in a mtt get of your arse and organize it yourself!!!!!!!!!!! you can arrange 3 or 4 tables get 2-3 chip sets get a computer and software , get somewhere that hold 30-40 people chairs drinks eats ........

big d's at caboolture ran for 5 years rake free because of dwambo and i wanting a game to play , we didn't get on a forum a bitch about no games we got off our arse's and made it happen.

the biggest weekend happened when we ran the qld poker champs -

friday night was $20 rebuy 30+ players - then cashy till 6am

saturday 2pm start was $100 freezeout 40 players max. cashy till 6am

sunday main event $300 midday start 20+ players cashy went to midnight.

we had a great weekend and iam sure the guys that attended will say the same.

big d's closed due to lack of numbers as most players didn't want to play tournaments anymore they just wanted cash games and after 5 years of running the game i had to take a break.
