Re: WPPT Gold Coast

2012 02 02 10:27 am
Ok, just spent 30 seconds looking at WPPT website and Facebook page, and the Satts are on Optimus poker and guess what ? ........."they don't take deposits from Australia".......... WPPT says they are working on this and will advise when this changes...........see not that hard to find out really......

Looks to me like another well thought-out failure before it even starts.

Either way, if anyone at the ATO sees this debate they will be no doubt knocking on Mr Karamalikis' door for a share of the Aussie Millions $200,000 at the very least.

Probably would have been better to keep this one private boys and just chalk it up to experience

Just to make sure why don't you guys arrange to appear on the Channel 7 morning show and discuss your complaints, think of it as building up your images for future sponsorship deals.

Looks like this is has taken off like wildfire Jupiters and I'm told soon Treasury running multiple Satts for this tour, maybe they have a financial interest in this new WPPT tour ? seems odd to jump into a partnership with an "entity" that has not even successfully run 1 event yet (Goa isn't on til end of Feb) , what if it all folds before they even start ?

Re: Brisbane Treasury Tourneys

Wppt Satts are coming I was told, Briz champs they r looking at 3xDay1's 1xday2 1xday3 so 5-day event with about 250 starters and will be running Satts. They have details on their website for the Mon/Thur/AM satts events but nothing else.

Brisbane poker at Irish Club today.

Just for info its a free pub poker tourney but $1000 prizemoney if they get 80 starters, if not the $1000 reduces by $20 pp under the 80 required.

Brisbane Treasury Tourneys

2012 01 12 11:55 am
For info for any Briz ppl that may not already know there are some new things scheduled there......

monday....nights Super 60..... 23rd Jan to 7th May 18:30 $60 buy-in

thur nights.... poker league.....2nd Feb to 12th April 18:30 $110 buy-in

sun...............deep stack.......5th Feb and 4th Mar 14:30 $250 buy-in 20K ss

Jul ................Briz Poker Champs.......date Mid-Jul.......buy-in $1100.

Very little chance any1 who doesn't drop in to have a look at notice boards would know about any of these, so thought I'd post the details here.

The Aussie Millions last chance $170 buy-in on last 2 nights only got about 12 starters and the last 1 is tonight 18:30 ( 1 in 10 to level 3 which is 1 in 8 to AM main event).

Thanks Martin, checked out the new schedule on your website, looks great I was starting to give up on jupiters due to lack of anything interesting coming up but you have fixed that problem, lots of good stuff on there, congrats.

He had to appear online a minimum of 15 hrs per week and attend at least 5 majors donning the Stars patch.

He is old news in many ways, worldwide speak.

2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011..now 2012....that is a LONG time in poker.

Incidentally, many believed Crown were paying him 1 million per year for the naming rights of deep Stack series etc....

Not the case.

Can anyone name the last 10 winners of the WSOP....( of those who care ) the same way we could name them in the 80's and 90's?

Go go go Joe....ONE TIME

Those figures are interesting but I guess one of the most valuable things for a pro would be the buy-ins which the sponsor would presumably fund (any1 know if this is right), like at WSOP to enter everything costs >250k/year I think.

according to Jupiter's facebook page it's on again with live Satts starting Jan 13 and online on merge network (optimuspoker?).

No, there is no guarrantee.

Re: Deep Stack Poker Tournament @ Jupiters Gold Coast is back

2011 11 24 08:23 pm
Yes there is an * next to the numbers but you don't expect to see $32K pool stated when there is actually $40K in the pool, but anyway they have fixed the typo in some places but not in others, I think the numbers will be way down nobody knew this was on until last week and when they put the info on their website the 1st satt had already happened...I heard they were going to use the downstairs room for large tournaments but I don't know if this is right.... does anyone know if Martin McC... is still running the show I haven't seen him post anything for quite a while and thought maybe the lack of organisation has something to do with him maybe not running it anymore ? if so that's sad he looked like he had a bit of an idea about poker promotions.

Re: What is WPPT ?

2011 11 23 04:07 pm
Just for what it's worth after checking their website it looks like WPPT has revised it's schedule with the inaugural event now no longer advertised as Jupiter's in March but now in Goa, India, in February......I guess the next update will announce the Aussie Millions in January as being their new inaugural event..........

Re: Jupiters and Treasury Hotel & Casino Aussie Millions Satellite Qualifiers

2011 11 23 03:59 pm
Level 1 at Treasury is $2K stack/15min blinds, level 2 is $3K/20min, level 3 is $10K/25min, and last chance megas are $5K/20mins

Level 1 at Jupiters is $5K stack, level 2 $10K, Direct Qualifier $20K.

Re: Deep Stack Poker Tournament @ Jupiters Gold Coast is back

2011 11 21 06:18 pm
Just like the other typo that they haven't bothered correcting for over 4 months about the deepstack satts being $110+15 when in fact they are $110+20 doesn't sound like much but its a large difference in rake as a %.

Re: Deep Stack Poker Tournament @ Jupiters Gold Coast is back

2011 11 21 06:09 pm
Yeah I know it's just a typo but you would think casino's would take special care to get their numbers right prior to publishing, it's amazing how often the wrong info is put out there.

Re: Deep Stack Poker Tournament @ Jupiters Gold Coast is back

2011 11 21 04:56 pm
Just had another look at the website.....

...........$32000 guarranteed pool based on max field of 80 runners @ $500 + $50 each............something doesn't add up here (about $8000 short).....???????
