| Outing Another Scumbag | 2010 04 28 02:12 pm | Hey everyone, I didn't want to do this, as I know no good often comes from threads like these. However I'm afraid this person hasn't given me much choice. I originally lent this person 10k during the Aussie Millions last year as they said they wouldn't be able to get to the bank in time. They showed me an ATM statement with the money in it, and promised that they would pay me back within the week. I'm always happy to help people out and so gave him the money. Looking back this was obviously a bit foolish of me, I didn't know him very well, in fact I didn't even know his last name. I guess it's true when people tell me I'm too nice for my own good. A week went by and I hadn't heard from him, I tried calling the number that he gave me and some complete random person answered saying they had no idea who I was talking about. I was upset very much by this. It would have been one of the last days of the Aussie Millions when I ran into him again at the crown poker room. I confronted him and he said he had been trying to track me down all week. However he didn't have the money with him right now. I offered to go to the bank with him right there and then but he said he was in a rush to go somewhere. I also told him I tried calling him all week and it was the wrong number. He said that I must have mistyped the number into my phone. He gave me a new number which was completely different to the original one. He also said to give him a call the next day, and he would give me the money then. The next day I called him and again I had been given the wrong number, I was infuriated. I tried to track him down before Aussie Millions finished, but alas I could not find him. I then didn't see him again for about 6 months. Eventually I ran into him again, and he told me he was very sorry. He claimed he had a gambling problem and had lost all his money and was completely broke. He asked me for my bank details and said he would start transferring $100 a week until the debt was paid off. Again I was extremely pissed off, but figuring I couldn't get blood from a stone, I gave him the details, and got another phone number. Like expected I didn't see any money. I tried calling him numerous times and eventually found out it was another fake number. I haven't seen him since. I've since heard along the grape vine that he has come into a bit of money, and would really like to try and get in contact with him again. I managed to track down his facebook profile here however he wont respond to any of my messages there either. If anyone has any contact details, or knows where I might find them, please let me know ASAP. Thanks |
