Pokerstars have never satellited 100-150 runners into a liveament in Australia. In fact I'd doubt they've ever satt'd many more than 50 into a single event here.

The reality is that The Star made a later than usual decision to run this series and as a result had less time than usual to run the required on site sats to reach the 200 runners they would have liked. Regardless, the general vibe is that they are happy enough that 160 runners supported the event, especially many players that are considered among Australia's most successful.

This is the first major big buyin series that they have run outside the Pokstars banner and the goal of establishing their own brand in regard to big buying MTT's will be helped not hindered by this event.

Also, how do you figure they lost 250k on the event? I'm struggling with that math tbh.

Aside from the main event being a little lower on numbers, the rest of the series was certainly not unsuccessful as some would lead you to believe. 575 entries for the opening $330 event, the largest 1k they've run, over 115 runners for a midweek six-max etc... I think they're pretty happy generally speaking.
