Last year we backtracked all the major Australasian events since 2000 and prepared a summary sheet ( after many sleepless nights with Webperson Jo and Bendigo). The results represented player performance in these events since 2000. Obviously our newer stars will have some trouble catching up with the leaders but 5 years from now who knows?

The new school is represented by Arul Thillai 20, Han Lu 22, Emad Tahtouh 23, Baden Logan 31, Matt Downing 31, Jovan Scekic 43,Alison Lightman 45: all of whom we will see next year.

If you read through the names wou will find a show case of Australasian poker players over the last 5 years.

It always brings back many memories for me. None of them bad.

Congratulations Lee once more and we all look forwared tom the Book release through Amazon in October/ As I see it, "Kill Bill" will be the first new definitive doctrinal manual since Doyle Brunsen. The tables of Basic Play for blinds v chips, position and experience will provide more than a guide for beginners and experienced players.
Which hand is the favourite, AKu, AQu, AJu or 6,3s?
Make them buy the book to find out.
Good Luck Lee. You are the best this year.

How come nobody got any points for 2000 and only 10 people scored points in 2001? I won 3 tournaments and made a host of final tables in these two years but wasn't allocated a point in either year, or am I missing something?

You've all lost sight of the fact I have not as yet put up the Aussie winner of two WSOP bracelets and before Aussie Joe the highest money winner. Guess who.

The setting up of the PNW rankings took some time. I was going to go all the way back to 1939 when I won the under 11 Paddo Junior Tech Draw Poker Championship but I found out that the commencement of WW11 had cancelled all records sooo I had to start somewhere and 2001 was about all I could manage.
Go to Tournaments - archives - PAR 2001 and you will see the events I have ranked. Sorry about that Gary, as for my erudite mate Brian,. your monument is more enduring than brass - the most amusing PNW post.
The bit of a mix up between 2000 and 2001 is caused by the dates of the CAPC and the end of the year as I see it. The wonderful years of Hobart, Adelaide and Canberra have almost been lost exept in those out of print booklets by Maurie Moore - God Bless his Soul

So no events at all are rated from 2000, no events from Adelaide in 2001, no events from Canberra 2001 or 2002, and only a handful of events from NZ and Crown 2001 have been rated and of those only 10 people were given any points at all. For instance, you have Jason Gray as the winner of the Mike Comer Classic in 2001 but he got no points for it. Other than that, it seems like a good rating system.

I'm not sure if it counts but I did win the Wagga Wagga Yo Yo Championship 4 years in a row way back when.

I was so good at loop the loops that I had to wear bandaids on the middle finger of my right hand to stop wear and tear. This is not to be confused with the permanently sore wrist that Joe the Nut has from who knows what.

You'd think that an achievement like mine would have counted at least a few points towards player of the Millenium, but try as I might I'm in the same boat as poor old gazza (although I'm led to believe he may have been black carded during that 2001-2005 period).

The results software was not complete in 2000 and was too hard.
Both Canberra and Adelaide declined to forward results or advertise with PNW and hence results are not available to PNW. (years in question 2000 to 2002.)
Comer Classic was not a designated championship event and was not rated.
I have done my best with Brian's poker profile but lack a pic. He is now side by side with the Master.

Gary , maybe you didn't read the fine print :

"Last year we backtracked all the major Australasian events since 2000 and prepared a summary sheet ( after many sleepless nights with Webperson Jo and Bendigo...."

Therein lies the answer ?

Gary should have been recognized.

Gary should have been allowed to play in NZ.

I am not alone in this school of thought.

danielg,,i think all players decided to club in 100 each so the bubble would get "something"

however, the winner should always pay the bubble a dividend for mine

Bugsy

How many SPT's did you play?

What was your sucess rate?

Did you pay anything for the dealers from your winnings?

If so, did it make the bar?

Bugsy old son
The reason I delete your posts is that they are untrue and socio destructive.

I'm afraid you have gone from a pleasant laugh to a pain in the bum and you are no longer welcome on the site. There is a large difference between repartee (of which Brian is a master), satire, sarcasm and straight out defamation.

Posting on the PNW NB is a voluntary matter: either pick up your act or post somewhere else.

Maurie, hopefully you have calmed down from my "shame" comment and can more objective.

a defamatory comment is one that damages a persons reputation, it can be both defamatory and true. while i can be defamatory on PNW I don't make any claims on PNW that i believe to be untrue and am happy to debate .
anything in any of my posts that you feel to be unfair or untrue.

Your claim that i lie is defamatory and also untrue

master,

After numerous prompts to link my PNW login to the player profiles I actually did a search for my name in the player list. I thought this would be futile as I have been out of the country since before these records were started.

Much to my surprise however I did find an empty entry bearing my name with a past exploit mentioned, obviously in jest, but quite humourous.

I was a little bit peeved however to find that no points had been awarded for this meritorious achievement. I would also like to point out that it was the Riverina YoYo Championships, not just the Wagga Wagga Champs.

Oh yes, them were the days, loop the loops, walking the dog, rocking the cradle, around the world and uncountable bottles of coca cola, what a year 2004 was.
