Rocco Palumbo has improved his chip lead further, taking down the following hand. Nelson Robinson was on the button when he raised it up to 80,000. Palumbo called and the dealer got three cards ready.

Flop: {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Palumbo checked here and then called the 95,000-chip bet of Robinson. On the {6-Hearts} turn, Palumbo check-called a bet of 175,000 and the {7-Diamonds} would complete the board on the river.

This time both players checked and Palumbo turned over {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, his pair of nines enough to send Robinson's cards into the muck.

Rocco Takes a Few More

Posted 2012-06-26 GMT-6 • Level 26: 20,000-40,000, 5,000 ante

The players have been playing pretty slow to start the heads-up match, but this recent hand turned out to exchange quite a lot of chips.

It started with Nelson Robinson opening the button and Rocco Palumbo making the call. On the {5-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, Palumbo check-called a bet of 100,000 from Robinson. Palumbo again check-called on the {8-Diamonds} turn, this time a bet of 160,000. On the {5-Hearts} river, another check from Palumbo would see Robinson bet 275,000. Palumbo made the call and the two players turned their hands over.

Palumbo: {k-}{6-}
Robinson: {j-}{9-}

Palumbo's pair of kings were too strong for Robinson's pair of nines, with Palumbo raking in the chips.
