The 2011 Aussie Millions has kicked off with huge numbers filling the Crown Poker Room for the biggest tournament series that these shores have to offer. Already close to 800 players have taken their shot in the $1,100 Opening Event as they make use of the popular re-repechage format. You can follow all the action from home as the PokerNews team are on the floor covering the blow-by-blow action in their Live Reporting section.
The locals are out in force and are slowly being joined by the interstate crews as well as many International stars, with more expected to hop off the plane over the coming weeks.
Already spotted in Melbourne are the likes of Maria Ho, Scott Montgomery, James Akenhead and Annette Obrestad who caught up with PokerNetwork’s own Lynn Gilmartin for a quick chat.
One of the great features of the Aussie Millions is influx of Full Tilt Pros who fly in especially for the big buy-in events including the Main Event, $100k Challenge and the Cash Game. Having such poker talent together in this country at the same time is a real treat, and what better way to showcase their talents than the Full Tilt Poker Academy.
Returning for the second consecutive year, the Full Tilt Poker Academy will feature a host of star-studded presenters including Howard Lederer, Gus Hansen, Erick Lindgren and last month’s EPT Prague Main Event winner, Roberto Romanello. In addition to these world class players the Academy will feature some of the best local Australian and New Zealand Red Pros including Jonathan Karamalikis and WSOP bracelet winner Simon Watt. The pros will cover topics such as table image, live tells, mixed games, changing gears and hand analysis.
The seminar will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm on January 22nd at Crown Promenades P1 room, located on level 1 of the Crown Promenade functions precinct.
Unfortunately tickets for the seminar are exclusive to Full Tilt Poker Aussie Millions qualifiers…with the exception of 25 tickets which we’ve got our hands on and are giving away to PokerNetwork members in one fantastic freeroll!
The Full Tilt Poker Academy Freeroll will be held on January 19th at 8:30pm AEDST and the top 25 place finishers will receive a complimentary ticket to the Full Tilt Poker Academy.
What better opportunity to get up close with the best in the business, and share in some of the expert strategies that made these players great?
To gain entry into the Full Tilt Poker Academy Freeroll you must be an Australian/New Zealand resident, download Full Tilt Poker through the links here on PokerNetwork and then enter the password “academy”. The tournament can be found in the Full Tilt Poker lobby with Tournament ID#211446808.
