LOL, Im gonna have to agree with Joey, I also think that women do make great Poker Players, but im not about to say that they are better than males, i think its the same as some players are better than others, its always fun to have a female/potential root on the table, one thing i have noticed playing with women is that they dont bluff all to often, everytime it comes down to it they always turn up the goods, In saying that, i wouldnt mind having this chick on my table:

A great article Joey.
My opinion differs a little from yours. Most card rooms are frequented by old grumpy men smoking cigars, young loutish drunks, macho desperates who have never been with a woman, young players more interested in poker than girls and rude to everyone not just women guys. Not a great incentive for blokes to bring their wives and girlfriends. I judge a poker room by the number of female players in the room. In Korona sometimes, females make up 30% of the players in the room. To assure women and to encourage men that it is OK to bring their partners,we sometimes hold Ladies tournaments. These are very popular. Guys love them because the wife or the girlfriend is too bussy playing instead of naging to go home. The femeles also understand that they are very wellcome in the place,if the place is prepared to run tournaments just for them. Nobody is thinking about sexism, equality ,woman liberation or some other cause.Everyone just wants to play poker. I must also add that this feminism thing has not gone overboard like it has in Australia and America. I tell my Russian friends about the incident a while ago in Australia ,where a bloke lost his job because he said "wow" when a woman bent over and showed her breasts. The woman evidently was wearing a low cut dress.(Why,if she wasn't looking for attention)She bent over to pickup something, giving a great view of her breasts. Guy walking by saw them and made a "Wow"noise, complementing the flasher. She calls the cops.Poor guy goes to court ,cops a guilty fine of $50. So far silly and over the top but wait a minute ,there is more. The guy works for the Public Service and because he has a conviction, loses his job. This could only happen in Australia . So back to the ladies tournaments. If we are to control feminism, sexism, womans lib.,and treated poker as a game ,we would not have political comments by some frustrated guys. "Ladies only" tournaments are only a PR tool used by the management. Just like having Speed tournaments,Max Six tournaments,Young Gun tournaments etc.,which are all used just to bring variety to the room. The idiots who want to bring in politics and gender should be blacklisted from the room.Just come and play poker or F#2#2 off.

Hi risk2Dupside,
You are not as funny as you thought. We have had men dressed up as women and the other way round. We had a "Super Hero" night.Players came as Super heros, like Superman,Batman,Donald Duck,Mickey Mouse,James Bond etc., Everone had a name of a Super hero and a starting stack of $10,000. If you came dressed as your Super hero, you got a bonus of $10,000 in chips. As you have guessed, everyone dressed up.It was a great night. Can you imagine the guy dressed as Wonder Woman? By the way,James Bond won the tournament and yes it was a girl.
