Schemion Finds a Jack

Posted 2013-01-14 GMT-5

Mike Watson opened for 65,000 under the gun with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Ole Schemion defended from the big blind with the inferior {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Schemion managed to get lucky and catch a jack on the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, but regardless it went check-check.

When the dealer burned and turned the {4-Spades}, Schemion led out for 76,000 with his pair and Watson made a relatively quick fold.

Ole Schemion opened to 60,000 from under the gun with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}, Vanessa Selbst three-bet to 143,000 with {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on the button, and the action folded back to Schemion, who four-bet to 266,000. Selbst called.

The dealer fanned {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts}, giving Selbst trips, and Schemion led for 119,000. Selbst called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs}, and Schemion slowed down, checking to Selbst who fired 216,000. Schemion snap-called.

The {9-Clubs} completed the board, and Schemion checked again. Selbst instantly moved all in for effectively 765,000, and Schemion folded.

Watson, who picked up a straight flush draw and a lot of equity, fired again, this time for 180,000, and Deeb quickly released his hand.
