Troyanovskiy Gives It Up

Posted 2013-01-14 GMT-5 by

Vanessa Selbst opened for 120,000 with {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Vladimir Troyanovskiy called with the {Q-Diamonds}{5-}. Surprisingly, both players then checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}.

Troyanovskiy led out for 125,000 with his flush and open-ended straight draw, but he was met by a raise to 410,000 by Selbst, who had flopped two pair. Troyanovskiy thought for a solid minute, flashed the queen, and then sent his cards to the muck, much to Selbst's surprise.
