The management team at the Crown Casino, Melbourne must be buzzing with excitement right now because not only have they secured the 2013 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific but they are also set to hit 500 runners in their Melbourne Poker Championships.

Two of the three Day 1 flights have been completed with 151 and 100 players turning out on each respective day and today's Day 1c should see upwards of 250 taking part, which is a fantastic result when you consider they are going head-to-head with the PokerStars ANZPT Perth Main Event.

Day 1a's chip leader was Chris Bonato who managed to bag up an impressive 151,300 chips at the close of play. other notables who managed to navigate their way through to Sunday's Day 2 include Paul Bennett (132,000), Michael "Sticky" Guttman (125,700), Liam O'Rourke (70,500) and former Aussie Millions Main Event champion David Gorr (45,500).

Flight 2 saw its 100 entrants whittled down to just 28 and it was the day of choice for some of the big guns of Australian poker. The likes of WSOP bracelet winner Andrew Hinrichsen, Tim English, Tom Grigg and Olivier Gill all headed to the Crown poker room but most of these names failed to make it through the day with their chip stacks intact.

One man who certainly made it through to Day 2 was David "Leewah" Lee who bagged up 281,700 chips; an amazing achievement indeed. Lee is going to take some catching that is for sure, will anyone be able to come anywhere near that total at the end of today'sthird flight? Tune in later to find out!
