Since its introduction, the $50,000 Poker Players' Championship has been one of the most prestigious events of the World Series of Poker.

The $50,000 Poker Players' Championship features an 8-game rotation containing 2–7 Triple Draw, Limit Hold'em, Omaha Hi/Low, Razz, Seven-card stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Low, No limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha, in that order.

This year, the tournament started on Sunday, with 102 entries. The field played five 100-minute levels of poker, and no one did better during that time than Matt Glantz, who has made the final table of this event twice in the past.

After Day 2, Jason Mercier lead the 55 survivors, and now that Day 3 is in the bags, Abe Mosseri has the chiplead.

The play resumes on Wednesday at 2 p.m. local time where the final 22 players will once again return to the Amazon Room to determine who will get to be in the money and who will go home empty handed.
