It’s the age old question…(well it’s five to six years old at least)…
It was around the time when a lot of us noticed the World Poker Tour on TV or some guy named Joe Hachem winning millions in the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, and thought to ourselves “Yeah I play 50c/$1 Manila home games, surely I could play poker for a living?”
Well exactly how hard is it…?
How many of us have since tried and failed or are still aspiring to be “professional poker players”?

I stare at the monitor. It is blank. Utterly non-responsive. This is the second time I've broken the laptop.
I've just smashed the keyboard with my fist after losing with QQ v A2 on the bubble of a WSOP satellite on PokerStars. Now the screen sits there, mocking my rage with its indifference. I stand up and pace around the room, running bad beats through my head, clenching and unclenching my fists. Sure, I've only busted my laptop twice in two years, but that's twice too many.

We all know the scene…
You are in a tournament in your local poker room, and you go for it; you re-raise all in! Your opponent who has over half his chips in the middle goes into the tank for a minute, then another minute, then another minute…
Sigh.
Why do relatively simple decisions, that even a blindfolded chimp with a pencil in his teeth could conclude, become such a time-wasting, life-draining exercise in a live casino?

What makes seemingly logical men subscribe to the most outlandish theories on why online poker is rigged, and of course, rigged against them and them only?
It’s time to explore some of these theories in a little more detail…
1. “Premium Accounts” – do they exist and how do you obtain one?
A Premium Account has the ability to perform better than anyone in races and flop play due to their “Superiority”.

So the World Series has a day for the ladies: a 1000 dollar buy-in, ‘women only’ no-limit hold ‘em event. In the past I had mild indifference to this. I sort of felt like it I was a throwback to the 60’s and should be canned, but I didn’t really care either way. However, after the controversy of the last week my thinking on this has turned completely.

Over the past 12 months few players have been as consistent as Daniel Neilson. From Campbeltown in Sydney’s south-west, Daniel has amassed a live tournament resume which compares favourably to the very best of Australian tourney grinders.
His biggest cash to date came last year when he took out the Sydney ANZPT High Rollers Tournament for a cool $100k but most recently Daniel placed 4th in the Aussie Millions 6-max Event and 5th in the ANZPT Adelaide Main Event.
