Asian Poker Tour Philippines Reaches Day 2: Cho Young Wa Leads

The Asian Poker Tour Philippines Main Event is in full swing and has now reached its official Day 2 after both starting flights came and went in an explosion of high-octane poker action. Leading the way is Cho Young Wa who ended Day 1A with a massive stack of 163,200 chips.
Wa was already deep stacked when he entered a raising war with a now busted player in the big blind that resulted in Wa’s pocket kings holding all-in against a lowly pair of fives. That last hand boosted Wa’s stack significantly to see him lead Day 1A and the tournament overall.
Day 1A attracted 97 players, of who 39 progressed to Day 2. We already know Wa will be there, but so will the likes of Stephen Chidwick (106,850), Sam Razavi (91,950), Dan Kelly (71,450), JC Tran (69,225), Jordan Westmorland (46,650) and Team PokerStars Pro Chad Brown (39,550).
The second and final starting flight saw 108 players reduced to 62 over the course of eight 60-minute levels. Moses Saquing bagged up the most chips when the curtain came down, but his 83,400 stack contains almost half of the chips Day 1A’s Wa manged to accumulate.
Other notables who progressed to Day 2 include Nam Le (77,900), Joe Hachem (63,375) and Steve Gee (9,300).
The second day’s play commences at 13:00 local time and should see the money bubble burst and the final table, if not reached, will be just on the horizon. Check back into PokerNetwork tomorrow for a recap of the action.
