Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the PartyPoker Weekly where PokerNetwork bring you all of the latest PartyPoker related news and details of news promotions available to you. This week we have the launch of the Championship Challenge, opinions on who the best high stakes players are, poker players and celebrities who may have been separated at birth and more besides.
PartyPoker have unveiled a brand new promotion that will appeal to football fans around the world; the Championship Challenge. Running between May 14 and midnight on July 1st, the Championship Challenge will give you the chance to walk away with a cool $100,000 cash prize.
For every 10 PartyPoints you earn you will be randomly awarded one of 64 different football players, each of which award you a prize. These prizes include freerolls with prize pool ranging between $1,000 and $10,000 and instant cash prizes of between $1 and $20.
There are special prizes awarded for completing full teams too. For example, find yourself with the goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker for England and $50 will be credited to your PartyPoker account, whilst doing the same for the Polish team will net you a bankroll-boosting $1,200!
Furthermore, massive prizes are awarded for completing full groups. Each group has for teams in it, each with four players in each team and your reward for filling group D is $2,000, Group C 3,000; Group B $1,000 and Group A $7,000. However, complete all four groups, that is all 64 players, then $100,000 is all yours!
You can earn up to 100 footballers per day and your first footballer is awarded when you earn just 5 PartyPoints! There are a finite number of footballers available and this number will be visible on a ticker inside the PartyPoker software.
The PartyPoker Blog invited Josef Rantamäki to write a guest post for them last week and the PokerBlog writer decided to touch on the subject of who the five best high stakes poker players in the world currently are.
There is no prize for guessing who he says is the best in the world, nor the second really but we think positions three-through-five are certainly open for debate.
What do you think?
The 2012 World Series of Poker is just weeks away and you could be heading to Las Vegas, Nevada and taking part in poker's biggest and richest tournament of the year; the WSOP Main Event.
Last year's Main Event was won by the young German Pius Heinz who walked away with more than $8,700,000 and was instantly thrust into the poker community's limelight. This year it could be you if you manage to secure yourself a WSOP package worth $14,000!
Qualifiers are open on PartyPoker and will run right up to June 17 so there is still plenty of time to win a $14,000 package, which consists of:
There are daily freeroll qualifier tournaments taking place so you could win your package for absolutely no financial outlay at all. There are also a plenty of other satellite tournaments running that have buy-ins ranging from just $2 to $80 that feed into the weekly $700+$50 WSOP Satellite.
This particular tournament kicks off at 14:50 ET every Sunday and awards one $14,000 package for every 20 entrants!
Someone has to become this year's WSOP Main Event champion, and it could be you who is that person; sporting PartyPoker colors.
You can always trust the PartyPoker Blog to inject some fun and humour into proceedings and their latest tongue-in-cheek piece is hilarious! Seth Shafer has taken a look at the poker world and compared 12 of them to celebrities.
Some of them are uncanny, such as Freddy Deeb and Danny DeVito, Jeff Lisandro and Tony Soprano and our favourite TJ Cloutier and Estelle Getty from the Golden Girls!
PartyPoker players can participate in an exclusive $5,000 freeroll every single week; a reward for their continued loyalty. The $5,000 Bankroll Booster freeroll takes place every Sunday at 14:30 ET and gaining entry to it has never been so easy.
If you want to play in the $5,000 Bankroll Booster Freeroll then simply make a deposit before Sunday at 14:30 ET using the bonus code BOOSTER and you will be given a free seat to the next available tournament. Should you not want to make a deposit then you will be able to play in the freeroll if you earn just five PartyPoints during the week prior to the freeroll taking place. We told you it was easy
Thanks to the special relationship between PokerNetwork and PartyPoker you can help yourself to a free $50 bankroll! That is correct, $50 absolutely free. $50 that you could use to enter some of the Pokerfest II Online tournaments and possibly turn into a huge bankroll boost!
All you need to do is follow the simple steps below, and $50 is all yours to keep!
