Posted at 21:30 2013-02-21 by Matthew Pitt

PokerStars has just announced that they will launch a branded live poker room at the City of Dreams Casino, one of the most luxurious entertainment resorts in Macau, giving it a permanent home once again in Macau.

PokerStars Macau used to be based at the Grand Lisboa Casino but then switched homes to the Grand Waldo, which has been the venue for the majority of PokerStars’ recent events in Macau. The Grand Waldo was always going to be a temporary home to PokkerStars’ Macau operations and with this announcement PokerStars Macau has a new permanent home.

“The PokerStars online brand drives more traffic to live poker events than any other,” said PokerStars’ Director of Live Operations for Asia-Pacific, Danny McDonagh. “Players know that PokerStars is synonymous with integrity and high quality. That makes this collaboration a natural fit because City of Dreams has been at the forefront in providing the most innovative and premium gaming experience that is second to none in Macau.”

The new poker room will be located on the main casino floor of the City of Dreams Casino and will be called “PokerStars Live at the City of Dreams.” Along with cash games and daily tournament the venue will also host the Macau millions, the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), the Macau Poker Cup Series and the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT).

One would expect the new poker room to open with a flourish and a special event so stay tuned to PokerNetwork as we will bring you further details in the coming days and weeks.
