Aussie Millions Over, Next Stop Adelaide!

2 comments ● 2010-02-04

The Aussie Millions have wrapped up and we've crowned a new poker champion in Sydney's Tyron Krost. I haven't had the opportunity to meet Tyron, but the PokerNews magazine have already spoken to him for a feature interview in the next edition, and all accounts are that he is a very nice, genuine person, which is refreshing to hear.

The Aussie Millions was another great event, that was well run by the Crown staff as always. Personally, I mixed a little work with a little play, unfortunately with very little to show for it! While a reduced work schedule provided me with the opportunity to play a few events, the results were rather disappointing. I played two events and busted out of both relatively early in similar circumstances. Both times I held ace-king, and hit the flop with top pair, top kicker, but my opponents flopped sets to stack me. With the fast structure of the smaller buy-in events, I couldn't get away from it, but maybe it one of the deeper tournaments I could've found a fold.

In between events I've managed to keep myself off the streets by cleaning up Duckworth on the tennis courts. Could seriously put the kids through college on that kid's dodgy serve...

Next, we head to Adelaide for one of my favourite events of the year - the opening event of the PokerStars.net ANZPT. I haven't had much time to try to satellite, but the other night I did manage the impressive double of 14th in the Perth satellite and 11th in the Adelaide satellite, for a whole heap of nothing. I'll try a few more sats this week and hopefully grab a seat into the Main Event. I'll also list some shares for the event on ChipMeUp very soon, so keep an eye out so you can grab a piece of the devil!

Either way, I'll be in Adelaide to provide regular updates of all the action for PokerNetwork.

This new blog feature on PNW is pretty cool, and anyone can use it to have your own thoughts and stories appear in bright lights on the PNW home page. So I hope you'll all give it a try, and I'll make sure to provide some regular updates!
