    Default Adelaide Poker Championship 2011

    ADELAIDE POKER CHAMPIONSHIP
    OCTOBER 21-29, 2011

The Adelaide Casino is proud to present the Adelaide Poker Championship schedule for 2011.

The schedule includes thirteen fantastic events and six satellites over nine days.

This year we have a great mix of some of very popular tournaments plus the introduction of some exciting new tournaments.

Our biggest buy-in event this year will be the Jonathan ‘Karamalikis Cup’ – a No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed Event. This is sure to attract some of Australia’s finest tournament players and we anticipate a prize pool of a little over 100K. We are delighted to have Jonathan - one of Australia’s most successful poker players lend his name to this event and Jonathan has been very enthusiastic in his support of the Adelaide Champs.

The Adelaide Casinos’ Poker Zone will also play host to the first Australian Deaf Poker Championship to be held in an Australasian casino and the excitement amongst the Australian Deaf Poker community has been incredible – the buy-ins have already started!

Other highlights include Poker Industry events, a Ladies Hold’em event and a ‘Triple Chance’ event where you get a chance to win naming rights (for a similar tournament).

Satellites for the Main Event have been running for several weeks and of course there a many still to come - keep an eye out for our big week of satellites in September!

We look forward to seeing you in October!

    Hey David

traditionally do you get a full house for Day 1 of the ME at the 1500 buy in level? (presume that this is an annual event and not the first time it has run).

    Cheers

Were there any thoughts of holding this at some point in November when there is practically nothing on worldwide for it to clash with?

For years, November was the month where everyone congregated in Adelaide for some very affordable events and juicy side games.

This was until about 2001, when Adelaide closed its Poker room.

Then, in 2005, when poker re-started at Adelaide, things seemed to go backwards,,,

The champion staff member who thought of hosting a series of events each February,,,,,( just a few short days after 97% of the poker population had spent 2 weeks at Crown and away from families, friends and now their bankroll ) should be given a one way ticket to the cloak room. Do not pass go.

I am at odds how Adelaide casino guys cannot see when best to host events each year.

    A shame.
