Jackie Glazier Leaves Ivey Poker to Join 888 Poker

Jackie Glazier, the last woman standing in the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event, is the latest addition to the impressive roster of pros at 888 Poker. Glazier leaves Ivey poker with immediate effect to take up her new role as 888 Poker Ambassador and member of Team888.

Much has been said about Glazier’s 31st place finish at this year’s WSOP Main Event – and rightly so – but she has plenty more impressive results on her poker résumé, including six outright victories and over $1,188,000 in live tournament winnings.

A selection of Jackie Glazier’s Live Tournament Results

  • 31st place at the 2013 WSOP Main Event for $229,281
  • 1st place in a A$500 PLO event at ANZPT Sydney for A$12,512

  • 2nd place in the $3,000 NLHE event at the 2012 WSOP for $458,996
  • 1st place in the A$1,000 Melbourne Poker Championship in 2012 for A$95,000

  • 1st place in the 2010 A$1,000 ANZPT Melbourne event for A$37,500

Glazier had been seen occasionally sporting an 888 Poker patch during the 2013 WSOP Main Event but her sponsorship deal was only confirmed on Tuesday. Speaking of her deal, an excited Glazier said:

“I really felt they were the right brand for me, especially with my live tournament schedule,” before adding, “Now that I’m with 888poker I’m definitely going to be playing World Series of Poker Europe. I’m so excited!”

One of Glazier’s fellow Team888 members, British pro Sam Holden, welcomed Glazier to the team and Glazier confirmed she would be in Paris for the 2013 WSOPE.

To celebrate the addition of Glazier to its pro team, 888poker is running a special $5,750 freeroll that is only open to female and Australian players. The freeroll kicks off at 20:00 AEST on July 28 (10:00 GMT) and sees Glazier, playing under “Jackstar888,” have a $250 bounty on her head and the eventual winner walking away with a $5,500 WSOPE package. You can download 888poker via PokerNetwork and receive a 100% match up to $888 first deposit bonus.

You may recall that in January 2013, Glazier became a sponsored pro of Ivey Poker, a deal that has now ended. Although not confirmed by Phil Ivey himself, PokerNetwork has it on good authority that the majority – if not all – of the vast stable of Ivey Poker Pros are yet to receive any financial compensation for sporting the Ivey Poker patches, but they have been promised a share of any future profits. Maybe this had some influence on Glazier’s decision to join 888poker, that and the fact 888poker are a huge company with plenty of ties to Australian poker.

PokerNetwork would like to congratulate Jackie Glazier on becoming an 888poker sponsored pro and we hope to see her at many more final tables in the coming weeks, months and years.
